Yet another Didrikson question....

Does anyone have the Didrikson isabelle parka in red? Is it nice and would you recommend?

I'm tempted, but not sure if the Celeste is better (more flattering?).

I do and its been bloomin brilliant in this weather. Comes up big, so I'm still not sure if I wouldn't have been better with a 10 instead of a 12. I think it's ok, but not super glamerous! The patch pockets I think bring it down looks-wise. I would say Celeste prob more glam but I thought a bit fashiony for me.

Thanks Downy. Is yours red? Not sure if I'd look like a letter box in it (with pockets), but it's reduced in the sale which makes it more tempting.

It is warm enough this weather. I usually wear a thin t-shirt and a thin cardy or hoody underneath, or two t-shirts, or a slightly thicker hoody when headache-inducing cold, and that has been fine.

Went for a walk last night in the snow with dd who was spending ages playing with a stick making patterns. With the hood up it was great, I felt totally comfortable and the coat just seems to shrug off weather. It is like wearing my super winter waterproof when I'm hill walking, but looks much more elegant.

I've just ordered it in red - will report back on letterboxiness! There's also a lovely bright blue if you're worried you might get people stuffing parcels in your pockets..

Nicecupofteaplease - has your coat arrived and can you report back??? I'm v v tempted.......

am I right in thinking that none of the Didrikson coats have a removable hood?

I have the red Didriksons Isabelle and it is the warmest coat I have ever owned. It's not very fashionable but it will certainly keep out the cold.

do you mind me askign where they have been reduced?

I think the Celeste is longer - certainly at the back as it's more fishtail-y than the Isabelle. On the Didriksons website (or it might have been Youtube) there are some videos of a model wearing each one for comparison.

My Celeste has arrived, and I've v pleased with it. Not as shiny as I feared from pics online. Very roomy (I've got a 12 and it's verging on being a bit big, but rooms for jumpers) and stylish I think. The fishtail thing will take a bit of getting used to. All in all, a good buy (just under £100 inc delivery in sale, think I might have got the last one), and in time for the school run. Thanks for the earlier recommendations. DH says no more coats now!

am v jellus. what colour did you get? looks like i won't be getting one this year, can't stomach the idea of paying a third more than you, but it is the only one i like.

I got black, although I thought the green/khaki colour also looked nice.
