Why do I look so awful when I take close ups of myself with the iPhone?

Anyone else found this? Just when I think I'm looking not bad for an old bird, I catch myself with the camera for the iPhone reversed and think -noooo u r looking old!!!

I always look shit in mobile photos unless taken from a very specific angle, in a certain room in the house, at the right time of day

Are you using the flash? Whenever I take cameraphone photos of DS they are hideous if I use the flash and too dark if I don't use it. As my child is clearly absolutely beautiful, it must be the phone that doesn't work correctly.

Why would you want to do that anyway?? To be fair I'm a total camera-phobe, I hate having my picture taken (and I'm not unattractive). That said, I always feel better for knowing that I look 100 times better in person - I'd rather it was that way around!!

It happens by accident-you can reverse the camera on the iPhone so when you open the camera you see yourself. I seem to have a bulbous nose and about 20 chins. Not a good look

I do agree that the iPhone makes one look particularly hideous. Am sure that's not what I really look like.......

Me neither - though strangely if you are 20 something it seems to make you look gorgeous

Hipstamatic is the way to go, I agree. I look bloody marvellous in sepia.
