apart from on my legs? I am thinking footwise.

its too cold to break out the flats (and I dont do heels) would brown biker boots be ok? or would ankle boots be better? or black pull on ridery boots?

and a tunicy top?

or should I not bother and leave coloured jeans to the young 'uns? (I am 4, 5'1" with freakishly long legs for my height and slim with narrow hips but a j-lo-y bum)

Boots? Are your teeth better by the way?

OracleInaCoracle · 03/02/2012 22:39

ah, but what type! and they are loads better thanks, still swollen and feel odd but I have eaten toast today (with the crusts off, but still!) Grin thank you for asking!

I am glad you feel better. You are going to get better advice than mine on boots and other style matters. Still, that way, I am bumping for you!

RatDesPaquerettes · 03/02/2012 22:44

Somebody linked to these boots earlier today. I quite like them. Not sure if they would go with the jeans though, which seem very nice by the way.

MuslinSuit · 03/02/2012 22:44

Seems like a waste of the waist detail to chuck a tunic over it IMO. Tuck in a knitted polo neck would be the thing. Actually I do think the waist makes it an item for the yoof, sorry. But hey, if you're brave enough, go for it I suppose.

Next do have some nice coloured normal shape jeans in though - have my eye on the maroon ones to wear with black or leopard flats and a grey t-shirt.

OracleInaCoracle · 03/02/2012 22:46

I was eyeing up the maroon ones, but they had these in my size.

I love those boots btw.

What about wearing the jeans with some knitwear? I like The Pure Collection. Their clothes are not cheap though.

I think black pull on ridery boots would look good with the jeans too.

OracleInaCoracle · 04/02/2012 18:28

I have a fab oatmeal slouchy jumper that would look good, am a cheapskate though!

would these work?

OP posts:
RatDesPaquerettes · 04/02/2012 19:19

mmmm.... They might work but I would have thought knee-high boots would be best to make the most of your legs.

Surely, some style experts will come along at some stage and sort you out.

OracleInaCoracle · 04/02/2012 19:29

Im not really a fan of knee highs with jeans tbh, calf length boots are great on me, but I have a slight bow to my calf!

RatDesPaquerettes · 04/02/2012 19:50

Well... do you think you would be able to wear the tan boots with other clothes you have already got? They are cheap.

They probably would go with the skinny jeans and your oatmeal jumper but it would be reassuring to know that they can also be versatile.

RatDesPaquerettes · 04/02/2012 19:51

I think that there is a Mumsnet party going on to which neither of us has been invited. I can't believe there have only been 3 on us in total on this style thread.

OracleInaCoracle · 04/02/2012 20:50

I know! I think its the less than inspiring title tbh. I could wear them with jeggings and under normal jeans... I've had my eye on them for a while though. Will try the jeans on tomorrow I think, get a better idea!

There is parallel thread that might give you other ideas.

OracleInaCoracle · 05/02/2012 17:52

had a look on there. some really good ideas! I have just bought a pair of slouchy ankle boots from primark for £8, so its all systems go i think!

I had my eye on those jeans myself, I like the colour. I was put off by the review which said they were super tight as I prefer them not to be skin tight, although I suppose it does depend on the size of your legs. These sort of boots would look good with
asos

OracleInaCoracle · 07/02/2012 12:11

Reporting back! I have just bought them, they are very tight, but look ace. They look ok with my brown calf length boots, but a little dumpy, so I will be wearing them with ankle boots. Colour is lush!

I bought these jeans in black. Have worn them twice and am now putting them on ebay. They go really saggy after a few hours wear and the high waist is really baggy, theyre v big size wise. Unfortunately Id already worn them before I noticed so couldn't take them back.

lissielou - hope you dont have the same problem but theyre really not for me. Shame because I thought theyd be a bit of a wardrobe staple.

OracleInaCoracle · 07/02/2012 12:29

Oh poo! That's what I was hoping! I've paid cash so I can take them back if I get them home and wobble.

Wear them for a bit round the house first with the labels still on Wink

I was really disappointed because I thought Id get alot of wear out of them but they sagged really quickly as the waist was v high and a bit baggy, so that made the bum baggy as well. They didnt look flattering at all after about half an hours wear, and theyre so high you cant rectify things with a belt!
