Anything worth buying from Avon?

A friend has started doing Avon, so I feel I should buy something. It all just looks a bit, well, naff. Am I wrong? Are there hidden nuggets of stylish brilliance?!

The Skin So Soft range is good (I've tried the hand cream and the dry oil body spray, which also acts as a mozzie repellent), also the Foot Works products (esp. the scrubs and softening creams, not so sure about the deodorants/sprays).

You may also want to give the Anew face cream a go.

I have to confess to an addiction to glimmerstick eyeliner.

Supershock mascara is good.

SleepIsForTheSheep · 03/02/2012 22:08

I like the mascara too. Mind you, I'm more of a Max Factor/Maybelline girl with mascara - I'm not comparing it to designer brands when I say that. Mind you, have never noticed a difference on the odd occasion I've tried a posh one...

if you have a dd the detangling spray is good Smile

TheNewandImprovedMrsHollywood · 03/02/2012 22:45

Thank you for all suggestions!

I do have a DD - but she is only 8 months old and has a bit of a wispy Mohican going on, so no detangling required just yet! Mind you, DS has some mad professor hair, so maybe for him...

I might go for the skin so soft. I used to quite like another brand of dry oil spray - anything to stop the leathery skin!

oh and i buy the footworks softening cream for my dh who spends all day in wellies..... and it does work Shock Grin

oh and if you have horses, the skin so soft green dry oil spray keeps the flies away and makes them all nice and shiny Grin

I've just remembered their Room and Linen Sprays. I like the lavender and chamomile one, but they do quite a few different ones. I spray it on pillows

cairnterrier · 03/02/2012 22:53

Their lipsticks are good as are the mascaras.

whatsmyage · 04/02/2012 06:19

Dunno if they still have it, but I got an amazing foot cream from Avon. It was quite a thick one with AHA and shea butter. It comes in a smallish round tub with some moisture socks. Smells gorgeous and is v effective.

another fan of the foot works rub! Goes in really well. Also like the hand wash.
Planet spa stuff found in the well being bit( she will have a book with this in). I like the African shea butter really nice
