Giant Spot - help needed

PrivateBenjamin · 01/02/2012 18:17

I get spots quite often (adult acne), however i currently have the mother of all spots on my chin. I don't want to pop it because a. i don't like popping spots in case of scarring and b. it isn't one big head. I have studied it closely and it seems to be about 5 heads all joined into one mega spot (sorry - it's disgusting).

It has been brewing for about a week and now it is huge, green and has its own heartbeat.

Is there anything commonly found in a kitchen or bathroom that i can put on it to make it disappear? I would like to leave the house at some point and i feel like Baldrick from Blackadder with this on my face.

Help!

We really do need a photo and then we can advise on the most suitable treatment

SixtyFootDoll · 01/02/2012 19:17

Sudocrem?
Or benzoyl peroxide gel?

travailtotravel · 01/02/2012 19:18

There is an expert group in chat, PrivateBenjamin - -the pus porners. The rest will be along shortly ... to mention magnesium sulphate to draw it out ...

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 01/02/2012 19:20

and a hot flannel...

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 01/02/2012 19:21

... and a steady hand for the filming

cornsix · 01/02/2012 19:21

you can get really strong stuff from behind the counter at the chemist

recklesspixie · 01/02/2012 19:26

Duac ointment is AMAZING, think it's on prescription tho ..

BrianCoxHasScaryHair · 01/02/2012 19:50

wonder if OP is scared yet?

PastGrace · 01/02/2012 19:59

Another who would enjoy a picture and a squeeze - DP gets these cluster spots (often he declares he's managed to "get it all out" by himself, but he's actually only done 1/5 of it).

I find a cotton pad soaked in TCP wiped over it helps calm things down overnight. It stings like buggery for a few seconds, but it really does help.

PrivateBenjamin · 01/02/2012 20:05

I purposefully put this in S & B instead of chat in the hopes that the pus porners wouldn't notice and I wouldn't be peer pressured into popping it...

Where do i get benzoyl peroxide gel from? Or magnesium sulphate? I have sudocrem, will that make it (gently and painlessly) explode and take all the gunk out with it? I have been putting clear iodine on it but that actually just stings and makes it throb harder.

Grin

there-there OP.

It's ok, just give it a squeeze and we'll go away quietly yet satisfied [devil]

VivaLeBeaver · 01/02/2012 20:14

You need to give it a really good squeeze while someone films it. Then put it on YouTube.

Henwelly · 01/02/2012 20:16

We found it!!!!

Nagoo · 01/02/2012 20:17

hot flannel, as hot as you can bear.

Leave it a few days to ferment.

And then a really good squeeze with very clean hands...

.. while someone films it.

Nagoo · 01/02/2012 20:18

'Throb harder'

ohhh. OP. You are spoiling us.

awomenscorned · 01/02/2012 20:20

no way could I resist squeezing that.

hopenglory · 01/02/2012 20:25

Hot bottle trick

don't forget the video camera

RollerCola · 01/02/2012 20:30

Ha! Found you! There's no hiding from the pus-porn gang Grin

Well my suggestion is to

  1. Take a picture asap for 'day 1'in your Boil Blog
  2. Apply magnesium sulphate (or whatever it's called) I saw some in my local chemist the other day but have sadly never had any need for it, hence me loitering about on threads like this to get my pus fix
3.Update after 12/24 hrs (12 pref) with another photo to show progress.
  1. Keep applying more stuff to 'bring it to a head'
  2. Repeat step 3 until large head has formed.
  3. Once the pus-gang are in agreement and ONLY when you get the unanimous go-ahead...
  4. Film and
  5. SQUEEZE
  6. Post to YouTube
10. Cover in a bandage/get yourself to hospital/whatever.
theseboots · 01/02/2012 20:31

Oh yummy. Didn't know there were threads like this on here! Is there a whole section devoted to people who like to pick things?
Sterilise a needle on a flame and attack it. Then book a week off work!

Ha ha and you thought you could hide from the porners. You poor misguided soul. I am serious advocater of a good squeeeeze i am afraid.

Peekabooooo · 01/02/2012 20:36

I apply TCP or Tea Tree Oil when I get bad spots. Stings like mad at first but tends to help within a day or two.

RollerCola · 01/02/2012 20:37

After I watched that YouTube clip of that woman 'draining' that giant boil on a blokes back, I realised that squeezing really is the only answer.
