I was thinking purple platform heels, purple shrug and black fancy dress.....

Yay or nay?

Is purple out?

Purple good - black not so good! Most Indians refrain from wearing black (inauspicious colour) or White (colour of mourning) to celebrations. Normally the brighter and blingier the better! Could you find another colour dress?

Brilliant, thanks so much for that. I am toying with a turquoise silk dress with a gold voile and hand sewn roses on it.

I thought gold glittery shoes, gold jewellery and a face full of make up!!

turquoise sounds lovely, and gold jewellery good too. More is definitely more when it comes to Indian functions, so great excuse for full on glam make up/outfit/accessories Grin have fun!
