Estee Lauder Doublewear for unbeatable coverage and staying power. Just apply sparingly with a brush to avoid heavyness. Benefit Bo-ing concealor for same reason

QuinnFabray · 31/01/2012 17:32

Shiseido liquid sun protection foundation, because it has the staying power, great coverage and oil control properties of Estee Lauder Double Wear, whilst being incredibly light weight and non cakey, and a doddle to apply.

It's not easy to get hold of, only a couple of UK stockists I think, and the colour range is rubbish, but is you like EL DW, I urge you to try this.

Bare Minerals Bisque concealor and mineral foundation.

coffeeinbed · 31/01/2012 17:54

I'll throw a cheap one in here as well - Bourjouis Healthy Mix Serum - lightweight, stay on well.
The only thing - the shades run dark - make sure you see how it looks in daylight.

ggirl · 31/01/2012 17:55

I 2nd bare minerals , I use the summer bisque concealor.

Have over the yrs tried loads of top end foundations and BE is the only one that lasts all day and looks natural .

LoveInAColdClimate · 31/01/2012 17:56

Bare Minerals. I am a total convert. I used Mac for years, then Lily Lolo, then Bare Minerals for the last few years. Definitely the best of the bunch, and my skin is loads better too.

hillyhilly · 31/01/2012 17:56

I'm another bare minerals fan, first one I've ever really been comfortable with and I'm 43

LoveInAColdClimate · 31/01/2012 18:02

Oh, but I don't like the BM brushes. I did buy a Mac buffer brush but it sheds loads which I don't like. I still use my old Lily Lolo ones.

clippityclop · 31/01/2012 19:28

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light. Non-cakey, stays on. Also EL tinted moisturiser is lovely.

dingdong3 · 31/01/2012 22:16

Bobbi Brown Luminous...keep going back to it after trying other recommendations, both more and less expensive ones. It goes on lovely, doesn't cake to my wrinkles, slight luminosity which is always good and lasts ages.

Not doublewear it makes me spotty.

Missy44 · 31/01/2012 22:20

Clarins Truly Matt foundation is the best I've ever used, I've got combination skin (normal cheeks and oily nose and chin) this makes my skin feel really silky and the coverage is excellent, also it's the best colour match for my skin and just seems to sink in perfectly.

Fregley · 31/01/2012 22:24

Dry skin. Vitalumiere.
Hate mineral shit

SimoneD · 31/01/2012 23:11

Vitalumiere is fabulous, wouldnt be without it. Same with Benefit Boing
I also this mineral make up is crap. Dry and cakey and makes skin really pasty looking

karlu · 01/02/2012 22:01

Bare Minerals foundation, a smaller pot of another foundation as concealer and mineral veil on top. They have a brilliant concealer (well rested I think) for eyes which I put in top a liquid one. Can't believe how many people said "you are so lucky with your skin". Used to love Prescriptives but BM feels healthier for my skin.

Hopefully · 01/02/2012 22:10

A Clarins long lasting one. Can't remember the name right now, but it's a perfect match for my very slightly warm toned skin without being orange, and lasts all day and doesn't make me spotty.

mrsmartin · 01/02/2012 23:07

bare minerals on a daily basis, matte version for when I want to do the black liner and red lippy look. Mally cancellation concealer under my eyes for the black (they aren't dark - they are Black!) circles - it is the only thing that blocks them out completely. I usually just use my foundation with the max cover concealer brush when I get the odd blemish but I have just ordered the new blemish remedy from BE so I will post a review when I get it (hopefully tomorrow).

Sometimes I do fancy a change - I have LG balance and Brighten, Mally visible skin and Bobbi Brown moisture rich but none of them beats BE for looking classy in a jiffy!!

mrsmartin · 01/02/2012 23:13

To be honest - I think you need a half decent skin for BE - flaky skin just looks worse with it on top. Rosacea, pigmentation etc is easily fixed with BE - there is a reason so many professional salons will only promote mineral make-up, but if you have dry patches or severe acne it will only highlight the problems.

springaroundthecorner · 02/02/2012 07:03

Bobbi Brown Skin. Fantastic colours, looks natural, slap it on, sorted.
