I've got a silky blue kimono style top that I want to wear for a wedding in March but I'd like to wear something suitable over it as well as it will still be quite cold. You can see the top in my photos on my profile.

I don't really know what goes with it to be honest. I was thinking maybe a fitted jacket or blazer in a similar hue? Or is that just tacky? Can you tell that I am in dire need of fashion advice! Any comments most welcome! TIA.

depends, if you are wearing very smart trousers then a long wool cardigan can look great (trust me!) What bottoms are you wearing? shoes? More info....

Thanks for your reply. Plain grey smart trousers. Plain black heels.

I think you'd need a very smart coat or similar, with lovely handbag. Burgundy or plum would go lovely with your trousers and shoes and will go with every colour from blue to black. Are you family or close friend of the people getting married? I would glam up with hair and nails as outfit is very conservative tbh

Yes, am sister of groom. DCs are page boy and flowergirl respectively. I will be accessorising with hair things and necklace. What do you think of a burgundy velvet jacket? Will this clash badly with the silk?

That sounds lovely, but do go all out with hair professionally coloured and styled, nails done, false tan if that's your thing. (I am paranoid - FWIW my dh's sister didn't dress up at all for our wedding she wore a summer top and trousers and it looks too casual in the pics, it's like she was just told there was a wedding on!). But in Ireland, weddings can be huge, v. glamorous, v expensive events. I am sister of the groom next month so am very touchy and panicking about outfit. forgive my waffling on Grin
