Morning ladies! We have booked a last minute holiday for Feb half term to Tenerife and I need a swim suit. My thighs are looking rather chunky and tummy rather round! I have that long body fairly short legs shape!

Any ideas for a good flattering shape enhancing swim suit?

Am a bit desperate as only 2 weeks to diet as its a last minute decision to go away.

Thanks

I had the most depressing time trying on swimsuits yesterday. No advice but I feel your pain.

I found this one very flattering when I was feeling a bit overweight. John Lewis also seemed to have some good swimwear in when I looked.

I have both a one-piece & a bikini from here Esther Williams - the Million Dollar Mermaid - they look fantastic on & are very comfortable (as they have a low cut bum & so don't keep riding up). They have a proper 'skirt' so they hang really nicely even when wet. Not sure if it would get to you in time - worth emailing them perhaps.

Otherwise www.toast.co.uk/category/Swimwear/swimwear.htm do a 'fake' version of a 50's swimsuit.

Otherwise put swimsuits into Good Housekeeping's site and ignore the google ads at the top - they have several articles with suggestions & links.

Have a good holiday

JoJo I take it all back!

This arrived today and looks amazing. It's supportive but really feminine and fits well (am very long in the torso too). It looks a bit like a ballerina's leotard on.

I promise you will look EXACTLY like Natalie Portman in it Wink.

Prima, I love the look of that swimsuit! Very simple and elegant. But I'm worried that it won't give much support "oop top". I'm a 32G and a size 12/14. Do you think there's any chance it'll stop my bad boys heading south to their natural residence?
Grace, I'm also loving the look of those slightly retro Esther Williams suits. Again, do they have any support at the bust?
I didn't need a swimsuit til I saw this thread; now I've convinved myself I neeeeed one!

Land's End. All sorts, for all sorts of figures.

What size are you? What's your budget?

PrimaBallerina · 29/01/2012 00:06

Dixie I'm about a D at the mo and a 12/14 too but also quite tall so some of the stretch is taken up that way iyswim. I ordered the 36 as it said that's a 14 and it fits me perfectly - no chance of flashing I hope. The reviewers on amazon say the customer service us good so I'd say give it a go.

I'm totally chuffed with it for a tenner after looking for ages.
