Thanks for all the links. Shopstyle is good, but there is nothing that fits the bill. I think the problem is I have too fixed an idea in my mind, and after trawling around every shoe shop in Brighton on Friday, I've come to the conclusion that I'm simply terminally unfashionable and out of step with modern taste

However, I did buy a nice pink jacket in the Kew sale, so I don't feel too deprived

Clarks have some with ribbon ties. They are silvery grey with a Liberty lining; I like them, but maybe not exactly what you are looking for.
