Jeans....houlihans....maverick skinnies......what do you wear?

So I am looking for some spring jeans. And have never found any high street jeans that fit and flatter the way 7's, j brand, James or Paige do....and I have tried. Love my James hunters but they are wearing out now so what can I replace them with. I have been told houlihans are fab.....never braved a pair as scared off by the seemingly low rise. Are they outdated and if not why do people rave about them and who do they suit? Has anyone tried j brand mavericks and if so what are your opinions. All ideas and thoughts very welcome as my jeans are the cornerstone of my wardrobe!!!!! Need them to look good and feel fantastic!

Houlihans - not many people can wear them well so would avoid at all costs. Uniqlo have brilliant high street priced jeans - great quality. Haven't tried the Jbrand mavericks but the straight leg jeans are great.

I actually think houlihans can be flattering but I wouldn't buy them now as a bit last year for me.

On the high street - I really rate topshop - love the leighs.

Have just bought some hudson lavender jeans and also have james twiggys which are lovely.

If you're in London go to somewhere like Donna Ida to try on loads and see which are best and then order more cheaply from shopbop

Alas in Perth....and not Australia, so dona Ida website frequently browsed but unlikely to get to shop soon. Mhhhh haven't seen hudsons in lavender but do think coloured jeans are a great spring look. Where did you find them? Keep the suggestions coming!

I got mine from Donna Ida.

What size/shape are you? There's loads of printed denim coming in this season although not sure I'll be doing that look.

Shopbop have a good range but I like Donna Ida and NAP mostly for browsing. Oh also a fan of MiH jeans.

alwaysrunninginheels · 25/01/2012 12:21

Usually a size 26 in jeans and 8-10 in shops. But paranoid with capital p about stomach. Can't get my head around the idea of printed denim....coloured great but printed is a bit too 80s for me. And I think you always look best when you love what your wearing. Never tried shopbop.....must have a look!

Well the james twiggys would be perfect for you as have a good mid-rise so hold stomach in (my problem area too)

But you'd probably only want a 25 as they're generous sizing.
