What's with the black hole in boys'/men's shoes???

Trying to buy a pair of trainers for DS1 who is 12. He now wears a size 6, which means he has grown out of the children's sizes (biggest seems to be 5.5).

But we are really struggling to find him a discounted pair of trainers (things like Adidas fit him best as he has narrow feet). Nobody seems to have any sixes in! We had a similar problem in Sept when he needed new footie boots - I refuse to spend ££££ on boots he only wears at school.

What's it about? I do see that not many grown men wear a 6 (I know a few with v small feet who wear a 7), so the 6s they sell will be almost exclusively to boys growing through the range, but surely that's true of the kids' size 5s too, and we had no trouble getting those!

Grrrr just a moan really, tho if anyone has any top cheap tips for trainers and footie boots in this obsure, recherche size I'd be grateful Smile
