Estee Lauder - foundation help please!

I had a sample (in unmarked plastic bottle) of the best foundation ever.... I went to another branch of Debenhams to buy the full size and they sold me the vitamin/mineral foundation. It's terrible for my skin, flakes off and just looks awful.

The sample stuff is a very smooth, almost plasticky (sounds weird, I know), but it's very glossy and quite light even though the cream itself looks quite thick.

Does anybody have any idea what the sample is? I'm going to get rid of the vitamin one, I've only tried it twice, in minute amounts. :(

Thanks, if anybody can advise.

I would second that it sounds like the doublewear light - you could try taking it back and explaining the problem, you might get some freebies if nothing else!

Oh, quick replies... thank you very much. It's lovely stuff, the one in the sample pot anyway.

I'll take it back, perhaps they'll be able to do something but I'm definitely getting the doublewear lite! Thanks again. Grin

Take the stuff they have sold you back to the shop - they should refund you as it was sold under their advice. Then try on both types of doublewear (normal and light) - both good - walk round town a bit and make your mind up.

Thank you, Callipo and all - I'll try that. I didn't realise there were so many types and the lady in the shop sounded so definite. That'll teach me to insist on trying them in future.

Defo sounds like double wear or dw light.

Littlepumpkinpie · 19/01/2012 00:45

Sounds like Double wear to me too :)

ThatVikRinA22 · 19/01/2012 00:49

i have normal double wear and it could be that one, when applied with fingers it is lite and smooth but gives good cover.

when applied with a brush its like painting the humber bridge....so i opt for fingertip application now.
