I spend about £80 a year on myself and about £90 each on the DCs, that includes their shoes from Clarks.

"Those of you who estimate you spend £100 a year..."

I tend to get clothes that are rather timeless than the lastest trend. I have 5 pairs of shoes... winter boots, office shoes, trainers, another pair of casual shoes and sandals Grin. I get a new pair of shoes every 2-3 years. that is enough. I have office trousers (yes I work and I have to buy my own) which i had for ages. I have 3 good pairs of jeans but again, they last for several years, nothing that needs replacing anually. I get a new winter coat every 3-4 years. most of the things I get are from sales and I get a lot of my tops from primark or H&M.

and I do not look frumpy :)

i just don't see the point of shopping and some more shopping and some more shopping. could not think of a more dull thing to waste my money and time on...

It does help that where I live I have no need for summer clothes. Grin Haven't worn sandals for at least three years!

Looby when I loved back a my figures I worked out it was less than that by about a grand when you include hair, makeup and beauty treatments. I also said that I spend about half of my figure on dd, maybe it is a bit less. Like others I buy as we need .

We are quite thrifty in other areas , e.g we don't buy new cars, quite low key holidays. I tend to buy things from the same shops as my colleagues.

We also have only one child, the keys point of borderline infertility is you can afford more frocks.

I'm also on the Wise and Avid threads.

I have no idea how much I spend but would guess at £150/175 a month if you average it out over the year. Over the last couple of months I've spent loads but have 4mo baby so didn't spend much last year and now that I have lots of lovely new stuff I won't spend that much for the next few months either.

Hair works out at another £20pm as I only have it done every 12 weeks.

I don't use a lot of make-up so my £30 foundation lasts for over a year Blush and I just buy cheapie Superdrug moisturiser etc so maybe another £5 a month?

Have 3 DC and spend around £60pm between them with most of their clothes coming from H&M or eBay. We are lucky to have a Startrite factory shop here so shoes are half price which helps. I imagine we'll have to spend more on them as they get older but they don't need a lot for now.

Lion ameliagray are you me? We have a good income but I too baulk at buying new clothes every month! I buy things when I need them but do buy good quality things that last for years. I've had some of my summer clothes for yeeeaars. I might buy a few new things each season but certainly not clothes every month.

Am I you? maybe!

I don't get this "buy new clothes every month" thing or monthly spends.

I buy at the start of each season- now I am buying spring & summer clothes and as I already have a few things that are very wearable, I suppose I'll add in a couple of dresses, a few T shirts and maybe a couple of cardis.

I only buy new things if i have a gap in my wardrobe due to something wearing out or being very unfashionable after maybe 2-3 seasons.

Shoes- again, I have about 3 pairs of Coverse type shoes, a couple of pairs of sandals and some ballet pumps. (boots and trainers etc that are year round footwear) And that's all I'll need for what I do.

I do look at clothes all year round but more often than not I'll pass by thinking "Do I need that ? Will I get much wear out of it? No."

Well actually, up thread a bit about allotments... We grow all our own fruit n veg and some meat and cook everything from scratch, but that means I can spend a bit more on nice shoes and clothes. Have no credit card debts either, so I have to save. Saving for a good handbag next, prob mulberry.
