I spend a lot of time outdoors (dog walking, non dog walking, DCs letting off steam, walk to school). I tend to wear not very nice jeans, a fleece or sweater, trainers or timberland type boots, a ski type jacket- I'm sure you get the (not very flattering) picture.

Just to complicate the picture I am allergic to wool, which cuts out a lot of the lovely knitwear.

I would to look more stylish- a few warm tops and a lovely coat that is warm and looks good would be brilliant.

How do you stylish ladies dress for the great outdoors? Can anyone suggest anything that I could take a look at.

I'm 5'5" a size 12/14, long in the body and short in the leg (so have to beware of tops that aren't long enough).

Any help would be very gratefully received.

I wear layers... So for example I love icebreaker baselayers, and then nice tips and jumpers over. (icebreaker is a type of wool, but it doesn't aggravate my allergy.)

you can then be cunning. a nice shirt and then jumper over it, our a fitted polo neck, or a plain jumper with a nice scarf. And then a nice (not too long) coat.

Shoes are more tricky. dog walking = nice wellies or walking shoes. Park = almost flat smart leather boots.

I do ignore this style code when out walking for the day, I which case I wear my outdoor clothes like a badge of honour :)
