have mousy brown short hair and quite fancy a change, but nowt too drastic. Help me choose the right product and get the right result! Are there ten commandments to successfully dying your hair at home? TIA.

They always turn out darker than the pic on the front , I would b really wary it's so hard to get the right colour! Buy something that looks like your hair colour on front, even a tiny bit lighter x

Its all about the numbers.
I asked my hairdresser for advice after telling her I wasn't going to pay her £50 to do it Grin
She told me what numbers to go for to avoid going too dark as that kept happening cos I was looking at the pic in the box.
I think the higher the number the lighter it will be.Hang on will google.
