WOW, their prices have gone up again! I bought mine before Pippa Middleton and it cost me £125!

I have the black. I like it very much. I think you will be restricted colour wise with the toffee.

I've got the smaller version of that bag in Toffee.

Tan goes with everything whereas black only goes with black or grey.

I have a lot of charcoal clothes and coats and find the tan colour works well.

Tan goes with navy, neutrals and beiges etc whereas black doesn't. I think it's a mistake to think that black goes with everything- usually it doesn't and just looks boring.

Tofee.

Jessicaalbastwin · 12/01/2012 09:36

Meant to say Toffee Smile

Definitely toffee. Very versatile.

I have the small Pippa in light grey. Must admit the metalwork is just a bit too shiny and 'gold' for me - I'm very much up the 'silver' end of preferences and don't wear gold jewellery. This has stopped me buying the bigger Pippa, although otherwise it does have all the features I want. Clearly most people don't feel the same way - after all, most Mulberries have lots of 'gold'.

Apart from this one personal quibble, which I guess you don't share, I can really recommend the design of the bag - it's very practical as well as smart.

I completely agree over the gold hardware- much prefer silver/steel.

It makes it look a bit blingy.

Having said that for such a neat bag it hold quite a lot and I love the different sections which means I am not hunting as much for my car keys etc!

Anyone else ?

I bought a Pippa (in blue lizard) and regret it. A serviceable bag, but not worth its price and slightly Jessica Simpson somehow. I love the blue color but the hardware is really tacky - a mixture of gold and silver, very glitzy in a cheap and obvious way, and the zippers too. The zipper pullers are adorned with horrible golden seashells. Like a rhinestone diamond watch.

Every time I carry it I wonder whether I could somehow make the hardware duller (cobblers? sandblasting? nail polish? - I know I'm desperate.)

So get something else.

madammecholet · 12/01/2012 15:41

Toffee, but I agree its too bling for me :(

Rexy · 12/01/2012 16:09

Oh I like the gold bits as only saw it in the flesh yesterday and thought it made the bag look expensive !

Mmmm, for me, it makes it look cheap - so am never 100% happy with my small Pippa. The metal is really the only reason I've never bought a large one, as I love the space it provides.

trixymalixy · 13/01/2012 10:12

Toffee definitely, it will go with everything.
