Ones that cover the arse.

Thinking along the lines of a berghaus or similar.

Don't want anything bulky though.

I have the North Face Arctic Parka in purple. It is so warm - would definetly recommend it - worth every penny to be warm!

shelldockley I have the northface metropolis parka. Could not be LESS waterproof so it is interesting that housewifefromheaven's is!

I bought mine online and it was advertised on the site as being waterproof - I sent it back to northface as faulty after literally ending up soaked to the skin wearing it one day. They sent it back smartish with a snotty letter saying it was not a waterproof coat and was suitable only for dry cold conditions which is somewhat unfortunate as I live in Scotland...

Anywway the website I bought it from has removeded the word waterproof from the spec and on other sites I have seen it actually highligted that it is NOT a waterproof coat.....

Definitely taught me a valuable lesson and I did much much more research before buying another winter coat - there have been loads of v helpful threads on here on the topic so I feel I am much better informed now Smile

I have a variety of Regatta, Peter Storm, Sprayway coats, most of them 3-in-1 with fleeces inside. All super warm, all waterproof. On the odd occasion that the waterproofing has let me down (usually due to being very dirty then getting very very wet) I just re-waterproof them with NicWax and off we go again.

I have an Aigle Cuckmere Down and love it.

North face artic parka here too in purple
Totally delicious. And warm. And waterproof.

I've got a Northface Arctic Parka in black and I love it! It's like leaving the house wrapped in a duvet plus it's waterproof. If you look online you can find it for less than on the NF website. Also if you're buying a coat it's worth looking at the Blacks website - massive discounts on coats.

I have the North Face Arctic Parka in black, with grey fur (fake). I've wanted it for years, and kept trying to find it in sales, but it was never reduced. Got it from the States this autumn at a considerable saving (full price but 1/3 cheaper than UK prices), and absolutely LOVE it. I was caught in a hurricane in it this week and stayed dry and toasty. It's worth every penny. A friend has had one for 10 years and it's still going strong.

In my case good things come to those who wait!

I couldn't live without my Seasalt waterproof coat. They have some good reductions on their website at the moment. It's stylish, covers the bum, has a good hood and deep pockets.

I have a Mulberry Duffle coat. It's heaven. I picked it up for £40.00, bargain!
