Touche Eclait - is it worth the money?

I am sure there are threads about this, but i have looked and cannot find one?

I had a bit put on in local beauty store, under eyes, which are heavily shadowed right now. It seemed quite nice, my friend said it made a big difference.

Is it any good? I normally use No.7 (cheap) or Clinique, which to be honest does not work. No.7 now makes my eyes look to pale (ivory) or like I have been hit in the face (rose), not enough choice.

The touche eclait seems to sit nicely, not like concealer/make-up, seems to just soften the shadow. But, I only ha a bit on and not under make-up, or for any length of time.

I have sensitive-ish skin but my eyes are normally ok. After a week or two of using Touche Eclat the skin was all dry and sore.

I'd try something cheaper first.

post oh that is worth knowing.

I would wear it probably 5 out of 7 days, mostly at work/going to see people and I try to be hermit like as often as I can when not working!

I don't think it's worth it. It's got too much light-reflecting stuff in it so your eye sockets will light up like a raccoon's if anyone takes your photo with a flash, and for me it was also really drying on the skin around me eyes. L'Oreal's version (Touche Magique) is cheaper and better :)

wellwisher I don't have my photo taken these days, i look too haggard!

I am using Collection 2000s version which is called Illuminating Touch Light Diffusing Concealer. It costs about £3, never smells like the brush ends up doing on the YSL and seems much much nicer.

Would never fork out for YSL again now.

a recent convert to the garnier one as it covers as well as illuminating, full time working single parent to 4 children including a 2 year old means i have dark shadows that are terrible. was a slave to ysl but found that people said i looked more tired with it than without. since using the garnier one the circles seem to be lifting and people have said i look like i got more sleep!

Don't wear it under make-up, it completely defeats the object of it. I had one once and it was great for the brow bone, really opened the eyes up.

SlinkyB · 06/12/2011 15:13

Oh yes, agree the YSL one's brush smells funny after a while (thought it was just mine!).

I like Mac's concealer, there are lots of colours and you can get a frighteningly trendy lovely girl to colour match it for you.

another vote for the collection 2000 and l'oreal ones. currently using touche eclat and not impressed. certainly not for the price. the other two are not only cheaper but better.

I am horribly allergic to Touche Eclat. It made my eyes swell up and go red, and then dry up so that I looked like a very old tortoise for several days. The orange counter lady told me that no one was ever allergic, and wouldn't refund me as I had lost her receipt. Now use No 7 one from Boots, which seems to do the trick without making me look like an old reptile afterwards.
