So have you found a magic product/experience/technique/shop/anything that has the power to make you feel fab? Maybe a haircut/underwear/having your colours done/personal shopper.. What's your secret? FWIW mine is underwired nursing bras Wink.. but I'm hoping for plenty of non-lactating ideas!!

Great accessories - scarves, jewellery etc

Charbon · 11/11/2011 21:29

Teeth whitening at the Dentists and Bare Escentuals make-up.

Callipo · 11/11/2011 21:36

Lily Lolo foundation and kabuki brush, Origins Modern Friction face scrub and Boots Botanics Organic cleansing balm are the best things I've found for my skin.

Also loved laser tooth whitening but it was £££ and I came out with a shade of 'Simon Cowell white' teeth and DP said "OMFG, when is it going to go down?" Also, it doesn't last long if you are a serial abuser of coffee - no matter what they say.

BleughCowWonders · 12/11/2011 07:06

Getting eyebrows waxed (after she's done my legs)
Makes me look brighter, as if I've just slept for 12 hours (in one go, not spread across 2 nights and broken into 2 hour chunks...)

Clarabumps · 12/11/2011 08:46

Nhame cage where did you get your teeth whitened?

NhameCage · 12/11/2011 12:37

The process was called BriteSmile and I had it done at my dentist about 6 years ago. It cost £500. If you have a good dentist then talk to them about what they would recommend.

ggirl · 12/11/2011 12:48

I asked at dentist about whitening. £350 for the moulds and bleaching , then you keep the moulds and can just buy the bleach stuff in a bottle for about £20 and do it yourself from then on , every 6 months or so.
Still a big outlay though.

Mumelie · 12/11/2011 13:11

Teeth whitening (did the moulds and bleach from dentist).
BE make up
Moroccan oil (finally getting compliments about my hair)

just off to have my first Shellac nail polish - maybe I'll finally have nice nails too Grin !

Emo76 · 12/11/2011 15:16

Buy and wear a red dress

Tweeze eyebrows

Basic make up routine

Go for a jog/run !

BalloonSlayer · 12/11/2011 15:18

30 day shred followed by "6 week 6 pack" out of the same stable.

ujjayi · 12/11/2011 17:38

ashtanga yoga
eyebrow wax
Estee Lauder Double Wear Light (having been a Chanel Vitalumiere consumer for several years, this is a total revelation and I lurve it - your skin stays luminous and fresh looking all day without any caking or need to retouch).
Mama Mio skincare range doubled with the recommended facial exercises

ujjayi · 12/11/2011 17:40

Oh and regular (i.e. daily) outdoor exercise. Not necessarily running or biking etc. But just taking a brisk-ish 30 minute walk during your lunch hour will get the blood & lymph pumping which makes your skin glow and appear smoother.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/11/2011 17:46

Blusher
Mascara
I look dead without them.

Vivienne Westwood - for making you proud of your curves!

notyummy · 12/11/2011 18:59

Blow dry
Exercise
Good underwear

cruelladepoppins · 12/11/2011 21:23

Eyelash perm.

UterusUterusGhali · 12/11/2011 22:07

I'm with balloon.

Losing a few pounds always makes you feel a bit better.
30 day shred works really quickly to tone you. I could feel actual muscle on my actual flabby arse after a week!

HazleNutt · 12/11/2011 22:15

Getting fitted in Bravissimo and going from 36DD to 32F. Instant weight loss and boob job!

HugosGoatee · 12/11/2011 22:16
  1. Drink buckets and buckets of water
  2. Cut down on puffy sugary carbs, change eating to be based around protein
  3. GhDs
  4. Highlights

I do like my naice make-up, but tbh being slim and having good hair seem to make the most difference to my overall look and confidence. The water bit and the cutting sugar bit together make my skin a gazillion times better though, and (not strictly S & B but is motivated by vanity to be slim) I feel much healthier and don't get tired and headachey any more.

I wish I'd done all this when I was younger and it wasn't just damage limitation - I think I would have been gorgeous if I'd taken better care of myself as above. Mousey hair, sallow skin and a ho-hum size 12 figure, so easy to change to beauty with some knowledge and skill IMO.

Bunbaker · 12/11/2011 22:20

Having my colours done was a brilliant investment. I bumped into someone I used to work with and the first thing she said was how well I looked. I wasn't wearing anything spectacular or beautifully made up or anything. I was just wearing the colours that suited me the best.

And that is what wearing the right colours should do for you - make you look well. If people notice your outfit you are wearing the wrong colour. They should notice the entire you not just your clothes.

theseventhdwarf · 13/11/2011 06:40

Wearing basic make up daily
Exercising regularly 4 times a weekGrin

twooter · 13/11/2011 07:38

Getting colours and style done - suddenly knowing why certain clothes look crap on me , and giving me the courage to get ridof nice clothes that just didn't work for me.

brighthair · 13/11/2011 11:55

Eye make up
Exercise - I love the after gym feeling
Nail varnish especially in a bright colour
Exfoliating and moisturising body
