I give up.....where do you find boots to fit over big calfs?

I have spent the whole afternoon trying on boots. In an ideal world i would like leather knee high tan boots with a round toe.....funky more than smart.
In the real world i world i would have been happy if any of them had fitted round my calves.I was feeling pretty bad till i saw a woman throw a pair of boots back on the shelf as they didnt fit her either. She told me i was the 3rd person she had seen today having the same problem.
Have looked in Clarks,Next, Marks and Spencers, even evans but they were bigger all over and online at Duo ( need to try on for that money) Viva la shoes, Marisota etc....
Can anybody help me find a pair before i go mad with frustration?
Thanks

I got these for Christmas last year (in turquoise, but they do loads of other colours too - tan, black, purple, pink, red etc). They are super comfy and I love them. They were the only ones I could find anywhere that would go over my chunky calves.

If you don't need them to be super-smart then try looking at biker styles - they aren't as high as knee boots and tend to be flared at the top which helps. Javari.com has a biker boot filter.

That should be javari.co.uk

Next do a wider calf in some styles.

I got 2 really nice pairs from them this year online. Order them, try on and return to store if you don't like them.

Duo great but pricey

I have 4 pairs of Duo boots (collected over a number of years as they are such good quality and last well). I am lucky in that I am reasonably close to the Bath store.

A tip for trying on their boots - I was told by one of their shop assistants that you should only just be able to get them done up (ie a bit of a struggle) when you first buy them as they will give.
