Are dresses the way forward?

I don't enjoy buying clothes that much. I buy separates I like, but can never seem to find the top to go with the bottom and vice versa.

I have had a revelation today that dresses are the way forward. Cheaper than separates, easy to wear etc.

Does anyone have anything they would recommend for everyday school run type stuff. I am 5'8" size 12-14 but with broad shoulders, so sometimes size 16, flat chested! I suit brightish colours - I have brown hair and grey blue eyes.

Bought this today. A bargain and very flattering for those of us with broad shoulders and gives a great illusion of cleavage, hope to wear it with black cardies or even black polo neck and opaques this winter.
Also got my eye on this
Great 40s look for broad shoulders. Also knee length a relief as now I am well over 40 most dresses are just too short.

I'm an 18 and I only wear dresses (and jeans for casual).

I wear them every day, in winter with tights and boots and with three quarter leggings in summer.

Nearly all jersey dresses. Mostly from phase eight, White company, boden, Brora, Betty barclay at debenhams, and lots from Hobbs.

I'm pregnant so if I wear a dress I look like a tent, however once baby comes I'll be switching to dresses.

I'm sick of jeans and dresses are more versatile - you can wear them with tights, leggings or bare legs.

neuroticmumof3 please let us know how dress works out. I had my eye on it but a bit afraid it might emphasize my stomach.

And to OP dresses are the way forward much easier than separates.

However in winter I often do tall boots, with jeans tucked in with a tunic/dress -- so a bit of coordination required.

If I wore a dress for everyday I would feel very dressed up indeed...would you really wear these for the school run??

I'd love more dresses too, but haven't found any that I could bf in. Guess it'll have to be separates for me this winter.

I was converted to dresses last year, I have this dress in navy www.kew159.com/fcp/product/womens-clothing/dresses/Knot-Front-Long-Sleeve-Dress/99902036 wore it for most of last winter. Good value in the sale.

I can't wait for it to arrive and will report back when it does. I hope it's flattering to the stomach as mine is rather large lately. Too many Biscuit. I ordered another one too but it has disappeared from the website - must have sold out.

I wouldn't wear the Kew dress for the school run if it wasn't a work day iyswim, but have ordered this as well and will wear with leggings and boots on a casual day.

I totally love dresses and wear one pretty much every day. Started wearing them as my baby belly was a size larger than the rest of me.

I'm about the same height and siza as you and I saw the light about a year ago and now wear dresses pretty much every day. I love dresses, so much more flattering than wearing jeans.

I have loads of French connection dresses, they just seem to fit me well.

Trixy, I'll have a look at those.

I'm a SAHM and can't really justify purchases from The White company, Brora, & Hobbs. Is there anything else similar in price to White Stuff?

The Kew dress has arrived and is lovely on. Quality is very nice too. Now I just need the weather to get a bit chillier so I can wear it.

Last month I decided to only wear dresses, easy, comfortable and looks 'groomed'
Bought some lovely ones from Zara and WE 2weeks ago.
Hitting h&m tomorrow!
Def tights and long boots.
I have a post baby tum so dress has to flatter that!

Dresses scare me because I have a wobbly belly (I blame it on having that split muscle thing when preg with DD although my love of chocolate doesn't help!!) Don't want to hijack but do dresses exhist that won't make my belly look even bigger??!!

Dresses are def the way forward, esp for work. No coordination required, if sleeveless l/s top under or cardi over.

Got a lovely wool caramel sleeveless one from French Connection last week reduced from £90 to £29
