Anyone got these top shop boots?

these ones, i was debating buying thewm as i had some fly london mol and had to sell them on as my sporty calves could hardly get in them especially if tried to wear over jeans. I am therefore wanting to know how high these are in comparison and if made generously for sporty calves.

Grin at awkward heeled people

yes, mine were from xchainstore seller. if seller agrees they are faulty that means we dont have to pay return seller?

may try massaging them first as they are lovely to look at. would just prefer to be able to wear them too Grin

chickchickchicken · 23/09/2011 20:07

oops meant return postage

daenerysstormborn · 23/09/2011 20:14

lol at having to massage boots to wear them. am so looking forward to mine arriving now Grin

chickchickchicken · 23/09/2011 20:17

do you think playing whale music and talking softly to them will help the heels relax Grin

tummytickler · 23/09/2011 20:19

Dh is out tonight, I will try to massage my boots in the hope that I won't have to return them tomorrow!

Moodykat · 23/09/2011 20:21

Am not going to get a size larger as I think they would be massive! The seller did say they would refund postage back.

NestaVipers · 23/09/2011 20:21

I bought mine from markone_ltd on ebay so it's not just xchainstore's batch. They do look very nice and I was gutted when I first tried them and couldn't get them on. The heel is really hard and quite narrow but it can be beaten.

I was pretty determined to shoehorn my foot in. Selling them on didn't seem a viable option given that the buyer would likely face the same problem. The thought of £30 down the drain spurred me on Grin

chickchickchicken · 23/09/2011 20:23

nesta - how long did you massage for? any special tips on technique? any oils shoe polish involved? Grin

daenerysstormborn · 23/09/2011 20:29

nesta, mine are coming from markone too

NestaVipers · 23/09/2011 20:31

By massage I really mean that I pressed my thumb against the heel for a bit and then stuck my hand inside the boot and tried to compress it to loosen the rigid material. Then I put my (bare) foot in and stamped down and wriggled my foot in until I had it on.

It took quite a bit of effort the first time but it seems to be okay now that I've got them on once. All very unscientific and infuriating to have to do but it seemed to work for me.

chickchickchicken · 23/09/2011 20:32

sat watching gardeners world massaging my boots. soooo glad only the dogs are here to see me

NestaVipers · 23/09/2011 20:49

Try to slide as much of your foot in as possible to start with e.g. hold the boot out in front and slip it in. Then put foot on the ground and kind of stamp your foot into the boot (possibly pulling the back area/ heel part out with your hand).

They're definitely not as they should be but this method may render them wearable (as they really are very nice to look at).

daenerysstormborn · 23/09/2011 21:40

nesta, do they not rub when they're on if it takes this much effort to just get your foot in?, how comfy are they to walk in?

daenerysstormborn · 26/09/2011 14:18

mine have arrived, can get foot in fine, no massaging or gentle persuasion required! on the whole, i'm happy with them, the leather is nice, plus they are lined all the way inside which i didn't realise would be the case. i think they'll need wearing in though as the leather is quite stiff. typically, new boots arrive and there's a heatwave so i'm back in flip flops today Grin

tummytickler · 02/10/2011 22:22

A quick update! I got mine, but I was one of the odd healed freaks Grin .
I returned the boots to the seller (exchainstores) who promised full refund, and refund of return postage, and then I heard nothing from him. Thank God I sent them recorded delivery as I have had to start a paypal claim, as he has ignored every email I sent.
Not happy.
Glad you all like your boots Grin but I would not recommend this seller at all.

MissySmith8 · 03/10/2011 13:30

I paid for mine on the 17th of Sept and have still not received them. I keep getting fobbed off by 'exchainstores'. About to file a claim via paypal also.

chickchickchicken · 03/10/2011 13:48

oh no, i posted mine back to exchainstores today and didnt use recorded.

tummytickler · 03/10/2011 14:34

oh no chickchick maybe its worth getting in touch with paypal and explaining - he clearly has a bit of a crap track record Sad .
He has sold 235 pairs of boots, but his feedback score is only 101 - maybe they all the missing feedbacks are paypal claims? Wish I had noticed that before I bought the damn boots!
It was also explain why he was telling me his paypal account was frozen for ages - if he has that many disputes against him he wouldn't be able to access his paypal would he?
