Is it really sad to buy the same dress in two colours ??

I bought a dress for a wedding this year and loved it. It was really flattering and hid a multitude of sins. I've probably got a couple of weddings to go to next year (one confirmed and possibly another two) and have now noticed the same dress in a different colour.

Would it be really sad to buy it now or is that just a bit too dull and boring ?

Had a peek at your pics and you are gorgeous, that red suits you so am guessing the Phase8 dress will too. Its so hard to find a dress that you love so I would say def buy it in another colour if you want to, you can accessorise them completely differently, do hair differently etc. I have so many dresses but always find myself drawn to wearing the same couple of dresses.

What colour is the original Tilly? The link's not working. I have a wedding in December and want that dress, it's gorgeous!

wannabefree · 06/09/2011 20:58

That link you gave says the dress comes to the knee, yet the one you are wearing in the photo appears to be full-length? Confused

You look gorgeous btw.

Yes!!!!!!! If you find a flattering style then you will regret it bitterly if you don't buy both colours (I have been known to buy several in the same colour Blush when i find a work dress that is flattering + comfortable as it is always your favourite clothes that come a cropper. (I have only DSs, but if you have a DD - think of it as investmet for her Grin)

Ooooh they are gorgeous. I had fantastic red Jimmy Choos for my wedding which would probably have looked great with the red dress but they are wrecked (as reported in the Daily Mail Wink).

Aha! That dress is fabulous - I looked at it for weddings over the summer... but it is too long for very short people sadly.

I have bought things in multiple before now- not even a different colour - if something looks great and fits well, why wouldn't you?

Gillybobs · 07/09/2011 13:06

Ruby to me its a proper taupe, oyster would be much lighter imo

Honeymum · 07/09/2011 13:31

It's a lovely dress. I am tempted myself and I have no occasions to go to. Was the original colour oyster? I can't get the link to work.

The 20% code would be useful Grin

Tillyscoutsmum · 07/09/2011 15:54

The code I used was p8mvcs

Thanks. Debs and John Lewis are on 20% too at the mo til Friday I think.

rookiemater · 09/09/2011 16:54

Phew am saved from myself, tempted by this thread I went to John Lewis to try it on. It's actually a darker red than it looks on the website and the 12 was too tight and 14 too big for me so thats £120 - 20% saved!

Sadly I didn't really save money as I bought this www.phase-eight.co.uk/fcp/product/warehouse/Dresses/Megan-Ruched-Detail-Dress/201371050 because it looked brilliant on, but not terribly suitable for weddings!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/09/2011 16:58

It's gorgeous Tilly and I think it will look amazing on you. Sadly, I am another shortie so it's no good for me and I don't think either of those colours would work for me anyway. The red would be too bright and I think the gold would make me look rather corpse-like.

TracyK · 09/09/2011 17:25

If you love that colour Tilly - Mint Velvet has a few tops in that colour called Lipstick. Am off to HOF tomorrow to try them all on - my colouring is similar to yours!
