Good god no.
I want to know more about marching to lunch to a band.

TheMitfordsMaid · 31/08/2011 10:20

I'm more interested in the post below, sounds like fun.

Well my dp did the last 4 regularly poor bugger

TattyDevine · 31/08/2011 10:23

I don't have any black mum-boots but I can admit to a chestnut suede pair which are also Footglove (!) that I wear under jeans if I'm having a sore foot day which co-incides with a don't give a shit day both of which clash with a day out on my feet and weather getting chilly day. Not often, thankfully but cant bring myself to chuck them yet.

TattyDevine · 31/08/2011 10:24

I am well aware of their style-shortcomings though Grin

worldgonecrazy · 31/08/2011 10:26

Are they only Mum boots if they have a block heel or does the term apply to any black leather ankle boot with a sensible(ish) heel. Do these count as Mum boots

You have me worried as I need a new pair of black leather ankle boots, my last pair giving up the ghost after 7 years of almost constant wear, long before I became a Mum, so I guess they don't count as Mum boots?

Who knew that being a parent had so many pitfalls?

FoundWanting · 31/08/2011 10:26

I am a mum.

These are my boots.

Is navy wrong? Confused

noddyholder · 31/08/2011 10:27

I like those I have very similar in brown. Love platform as I can run in them Hate teetering shoes

Insomnia11 · 31/08/2011 10:28

I found a pair of those when I cleared out my understairs cupboard recently, must be about ten years old though. I gave them to a charity shop. Don't see what's wrong with them per se. Fashion leads to waste, really.

HallnotOates · 31/08/2011 10:28

lol at porno boots

no they are not mum boots at all.

agree with tatty - everyone needs a pair of sport watching boots - teetering in mud is not glam

usualsuspect · 31/08/2011 10:29

I only wear flat boots ,I think mine are known as granny boots

HallnotOates · 31/08/2011 10:29

noddyholder · 31/08/2011 10:31

Once you wear a pair of real knee length uggs to sport field you will be converted! They are the only things which regardless of even sub zero snow work your feet have NO IDEA its cold. They aren't pretty but the long ones are great

Insomnia11 · 31/08/2011 10:35

I have a few pairs of heels (which I rarely wear, though my heeled boots are about the most comfortable and do get some wear) and have always favoured comfortable flats. Throughout my teens clumpy boots were in fashion so I never wore heels until my twenties, and even then it was mostly platforms/wedges/kitten heels not stillettos.

Also I have buniony looking feet (though with no pain, blessedly) to start without wearing high heels, due to being knock kneed and flat footed Hmm. And I'm 5'7" so don't consider I need the extra height.

ImeldaM · 31/08/2011 10:36

I've got 'granny boots' too Grin and 'horsey' boots but no 'mum' boots or 'porno' boots (not that I would wear outside anyway Wink)

MyGoldfishIsEvil · 31/08/2011 10:37

No mum boots here either. Just ordered these:

I spend most of the winter in my wellies with fleecy lining.

LeBOF · 31/08/2011 10:39

Ooh, they look comfy.

OddBoots · 31/08/2011 10:40

Oh yes, lots of them, they are the only thing that will fit my (deformed) feet and AFO so I can walk. I also wear my bag across my body so I can move my arms in a way that lets me balance. I'm sure I attract judging, especially as I can appear drunk.

Insomnia11 · 31/08/2011 10:40

The best shoes ever are Next Heavenly Soles. Have green pumps and grey work shoes (with heels!, but still comfortable).

pookamoo · 31/08/2011 10:48

yes. i have some that I bought before I was a mum... way before! Hardly wear them as that height heel makes my back ache.

electricslide · 31/08/2011 10:52

I have a pair and can't bear them!! But what else can I wear with bootcut jeans that's comfortable!
