Is it just me or has S&B got really quite unpleasant over the past few weeks.

I love this section and happily post but I'd hate for people to be put off posting because of some really quite nasty comments.

Now I know I'm going to be told to bog off to nm but really - wouldn't it be nicer if it was a little less bitchy?

Fair enough then Remus. Smile. Now, do you think I can explain my enormous crucifix-thing if I said I had a (now much recovered) allergy to Vampires? Blush Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/08/2011 23:08

:)

I did upside down crucifixes too - I don't think I can explain that one away.

I did my A levels in a series of bondage skirts too and I'm convinced that ebcause I was a quiet and 'good' girl, none of the teachers actually noticed. Nobody told me off anyway, even though we should have been in uniform.

I am MUCH more sensibleboring now.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 30/08/2011 08:19

I used to have black and orange dreadlocks that I could sit on.
Pink/orange/green/blue mohawks

No 2 on the top with stringy purple hair at the fringe and the back hairline that were about 3 feet long.

Pink shampoo and set.

Should I go on or do you all feel better about your youthful mistakes now? Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/08/2011 21:18

It was sounding great until the pink shampoo and set! :)

thefirstMrsDeVere · 31/08/2011 15:42

It was the 80s!

Thats all I'm sayin Grin

AnyFucker · 31/08/2011 15:49

I was a bit naughty on the S+B topic a few days ago

I told someone that the outfit they were getting their knickers in a twist about was the least of their problems

As a frequeneter of the Relationships board and occasional forayer into S+B, the combination was not a great one that day

The first rule of the S+B topic do not step outside of the topic Grin

AnyFucker · 31/08/2011 15:50

I gave great style advice though...

madammecholet · 31/08/2011 16:22

I try to be honest, but sometimes I just want to make myself laugh. Is that wrong?

Pagwatch · 31/08/2011 16:31

I once went to a party in burgundy and gold striped pantaloons.
that is the kind of emotional baggage I carry. Being a new romantic scarred the very best of us.

I did then have a very good era of black clothes, pearls wrapped around my throat and wrists, seamed stockings and lots of expensive silk underwear.
I was a hugely popular girl for a while there.

MissBeehiving · 31/08/2011 16:56

I sympathise madammecholet I'm sitting on my hands over a shoe thread because I couldn't trust myself Grin

AbsDuWolef · 31/08/2011 17:32

I've now caught up with the controversial S+B thread.

Some mners are a bit precious, are they not? I'm pretty sure I, and DEFINITELY the OP from the mean thread, have said much much worse over the years. remember the hilarious thread about families on weekend breaks? Twas lovely.

madammecholet · 31/08/2011 18:10

Can you link to thread AbsDuWolef - I missed it.Grin

MrsCampbellBlack · 31/08/2011 18:14

Abs - I think its different though talking about a group of people on weekend breaks - I remember that too.

And I have said several times it wasn't about that thread - its more some pretty nasty comments about specific items of clothing that people have loved and worn and then someone comes along and basically rains on their parade.

OP posts:
petitdonkey · 31/08/2011 19:13

I hear you MrsCB - I've pretty much given up recently. I got all excited when I read 'What to wear on your first school run?', clicked on the thread and it was all so sneery and mean - it's like anyone who wants to chat about clothes and what to wear is shallow and not very bright (also a slight implication that they must be a less worthy Mum).

Well, that's my ponderings.... I need to go, it's DDs first day at school tomorrow so I should wax, tint eyebrows and lay out a series of outfit choices Wink

HallnotOates · 31/08/2011 19:14

Ive been mean
buyt tbh people have deserved it

and runs

:)

petitdonkey · 31/08/2011 19:14

I will add though, for all the lurkers - check out the Wise & Avid threads, I've never heard anyone be mean to one specific poster there. (yes, there may be chuckling about certain trends but never in response to an honest question from someone).

HallnotOates · 31/08/2011 19:18

i did wet my delicate pants at the all saints boots linked to and @cybilliberty suggested a suitable outfit to wear with them was a pirate fancy dress

was judt funny

BUT NOT KIND AT ALL I KKNOW THAT NOW

MissBeehiving · 31/08/2011 19:20

And next on S & B...

"What shall I accessorise my Tena Ladee with?"

madammecholet · 31/08/2011 19:41

I think S&B is warm, funny, hilarious, heartfelt, supportive and puts a smile on my face regularly.

Wouldn't want it any other way - warts and all.

MrsCampbellBlack · 31/08/2011 19:44

Well yes there are some things I don't get, irregular choice shoes and desigual to name but two. But I just sort of resist commenting because clearly my white jeans and leopard print outfits aren't going to be their thing either Smile

OP posts:
HallnotOates · 31/08/2011 19:45

i SO fancy the river island patchwork leather skirt

but will look like Cynthia Payne

MrsCampbellBlack · 31/08/2011 19:59

I am still after a leather skirt - tried the plain river island one but too a line. saw the gap one and looked great from the front but has weird stretchy side panels.

Nice one should be coming into h&m for £59.99 but goodness knows when oh and m&s also meant to be getting one.

God - I could do leather skirts as my specialist subject on mastermind. Its like faux fur gilets - I covet them every winter and never find the right one.

Oh thought of you earlier - as lovely feather mini skirt in navy in topshop - thought it would be up your street.

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 31/08/2011 20:11

Gosh, I wore leather skirts the first time around

...and the 2nd

I shan't go for a 3rd Grin

HallnotOates · 31/08/2011 21:25

Pl
Report in. I don't need a line.

cyb · 31/08/2011 21:31

ahem I DID apologise about linking to red indian fancy dress

But I wasn't alone in my opinion of 'boots'
