Is it just me or has S&B got really quite unpleasant over the past few weeks.

I love this section and happily post but I'd hate for people to be put off posting because of some really quite nasty comments.

Now I know I'm going to be told to bog off to nm but really - wouldn't it be nicer if it was a little less bitchy?

Remus - I think its on the same floor as the whistles stuff, ie, not designer. And its comparitive prices to whistles/reiss etc.

Their sales are fab though.

Cyb - I never think you're mean Smile

Isn't it time for the annual boots thread or are you sorted this year - I am as last year's fiendishly expensive ones still going strong.

Tethers is the queen of finding good links it must be said Smile

Don't worry Perry - I've got your number Wink

Hmm, I am trying to rein in boots obsession. But was linked to a cracking pair in Duo last week that I am considering......

PerryCombover · 29/08/2011 21:40

For what it's worth I think that cod is immeasurably funny and kind.
She can piss take but only within the bounds of normal decency
She is one of the few great things left on MN imo

We need to have the mickey taken out of us at times and sometimes S&B is the only place we can get decent advice on clothing and style
I think we need to challenge when someone is being off

I reserve the right to be vile over all Uggs though and will continue to be merciless until they are driven out of business

thefirstMrsDeVere · 29/08/2011 21:44

I do love a cardi.

I imagine myself looking all fey and vintage.

Then I see photos and realise I look like Miss Marple Sad

Oh I like Cod and do find her funny and kind - as I said this isn't about one thread - its just a general feeling.

(I bought really fugly shoes today)

H said "what are those?" I have given in to orthotics

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/08/2011 21:47

Thanks Mrs CB.

Worried now because you've said Cyb isn't mean but nobody said I wasn't when I pondered earlier. Oh dear...maybe I am really horrible. :( I 'think' I'm only horrible about leggings though.

Vows - Will try and be nicer - even about people who wear leggings and short t-shorts.

MARYZ

they are slippers, slippers I tell you
Do not buy uggs or their cheap friends
Please

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/08/2011 21:49

Uniqlo good for reasonable priced cardigans.

I like cardigans - they're cosy.

However this winter - I am going to be more about discreet thermals under pretty shirts rather than rocking the Miss Marple look [copyright Mrs DeVere]

OP posts:
MrsCampbellBlack · 29/08/2011 21:51

Oh Remus - your lovely too.

And yes Perry - teasing is good - I mean I like leopard print/white jeans/short skirts and I am not tall - I had to get a thick-skin pretty quickly.

OP posts:
PerryCombover · 29/08/2011 21:51

I think we are all lovely but have weird clothing foibles that make us rant

for me its shrugs
UGGs

all cropped knitwear
people who recommend a nice shiny shirt with a pair of black trousers
shiny tights
prom dresses

That can make me seem unreasonably mean...although generally I am tres helpful and interested in all other things s&B

DeccaTreuhaft · 29/08/2011 21:51

I like S&B - it makes me laugh usually.

I was a bit forthright on a thread the other day about a ghaslty skirt but apologised to the OP straight away.

I reserve the right however to be scathing when someone links to Irregular Choice or Fly London shoes, though.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/08/2011 21:52

What are you doing on S&B if you don't know what t-shorts are? :) :) Blush

The Op on the bad skirt thread was v nice about it though.

DeccaTreuhaft · 29/08/2011 21:54

Oh that's good, I didn't see the OP come back to the skirt thread.

She did say that her DH thought that the skirt was an abomination against fashion, however, so I think she was used to it. Grin

thefirstMrsDeVere · 29/08/2011 22:00

I wear leggings frequently. I heart them.

I remember being in a shop about 3 years ago and saying to my mate 'who the hell is going to wear bloody leggings again?' (I am 44).

I now wear them instead of tights and think they are the bees (lyca clad) knees!

I wear them with lovely frocks so they look nice Grin

I enjoy finding stuff for people even if I hate the stuff itself.

Cardigans
Tunics
Leggings
Comfy boots
Wide leg trousers
Flippy skirts

Bring 'em on.

Collision · 29/08/2011 22:09

I miss MrsBadger.

Where is she? She used to frequent S&B all the time.

And I am glad I stood up to HallnotOates and told her not to be horrible!

DeccaTreuhaft · 29/08/2011 22:10

I love the biannual Per Una slag offs, and 'lets look at the ladies at Aintree'
