I love those silver trousers!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/08/2011 22:09

Can't stand Zara - all polyester and stupid sizing. I do quite like the look of that spotty silk top but those silver trousers are some of the most revolting things ever seen imho.

I go in every now and then in the hope that it has a) changed and started doing nice clothes and b) stopped making clothes that demand that if you are a size 12 you need a large and c) made trousers that don't need to be worn with stilts - but I am always disappointed on all three counts.

I've been coveting Zara A/W but am very pregnant so can only lust for the moment, have bought 2 pairs of shoes though and they are lovely. Have bought some of their newborn stuff as they seem to be the only place that has decent unisex stuff so my time on their website has not been completely wasted.

MrsCampbellBlack · 24/08/2011 07:21

I've lost 2lbs this week so far but have a few more to go to get back to normal weight.

Not sure how I've gained over half a stone this summer - oh yes, it'll be the constant eating ;)

TracyK · 24/08/2011 08:02

btw - I LOVE the barbour jaket - made the mistake of surfing for it and now want about £2k's worth of quilted jacketing!!!!!
Is there a good place to try on a whole load of the styles without having to order and return?

fishie · 24/08/2011 08:10

The staff are really nice at covent garden shop. tip, pay in basement there is never a queue. I've been covetting those silver trousers but cannot quite imagine when i'd wear them. Ditto silver tunic thing, which was a bit scratchy. oh god ipodge. i might.

fishie · 24/08/2011 08:13

NODDY you have the trousers? where do you wear them?

noddyholder · 24/08/2011 08:15

Haven,t yet but will wear tomorrow. I will dress them down not evening look at all probably a loose sloppy top and littlemheeled boots. I had black PVC look leggings last year that I wore a lot they looked glitzy on the hanger but quite casual with boots and a jumper.

sassyTHEFIRST · 24/08/2011 08:16

Too FAT for Zara this month. Maybe by Oct

callmemalcolm · 24/08/2011 09:08

Totally agree with nod style ideas for my alvins. Now ordered

fishie · 24/08/2011 13:34

ok I have tried on five pairs of sparkly trews in zara. not nice on me and I got my foot stuck in one pair. the alvins go straight down behind the knee a la ski pants which was never going to be good for someone carrot shaped ie moi.

so i bought three tops instead.

porcamiseria · 24/08/2011 15:00

I LOVE zara but i AM TOO BIG FOR THEM NOW (SIZE 14) gutted

callmemalcolm · 24/08/2011 18:21

rubbish

size 14 is L

cyb · 24/08/2011 19:29

I'm 14 bottoms and they are a SQUEEZE

florenceuk · 24/08/2011 20:36

M is a 10 so how can a L be 14?

porcamiseria · 25/08/2011 08:04

they size 14 is really a large size 12, trust me on this .....................

fishie · 25/08/2011 08:32

my zara shopping: glittery is very flattering, i possibly got this mine looks much nicer but right colour and also a blue top with a zip at the neck which I am wearing right now with snakeprint skinny jeans, red uniqlo hoody and a mcqueen scarf. And sandals because boots are in the menders, must go and collect.

didn't get this, only one left a bit small. I find their top sizes are much more generous than their bottoms. This is good for me although their trousers are always a bit too short in the rise and wide in the thigh to be flattering.

cyb · 25/08/2011 11:15

I agree tops more generous than bottoms. My bottom is generous- I think they suit boyish shapes better than curved

callmemalcolm · 26/08/2011 10:44

Silver trs here. My sure about em

tryingtoleave · 26/08/2011 11:28

We have zara in Sydney now. I queued up the week after it opened to get in - the clothes were hideous. I went again last week, a few months after opening. Still packed and still hideous. And expensive for the crappy quality. I remember zara from when I lived in Spain in the late 90s and it was lovely and reasonable. I don't know if we are being sent all the rejects from Europe, or if it is just all awful now.

cyb · 26/08/2011 11:31

ok DETAILS on trousers

MarshaBrady · 26/08/2011 11:35

Have ordered a gold skirt from Zara. Could be a bit Christmas bauble.

noddyholder · 26/08/2011 11:40

I have worn mine now looked good people seemed to like them. Real test later friends 18 yr old daughter plus frineds in Brighton checking it out as coming to uni here and we are going out tonight!

stripeybump · 26/08/2011 11:42

I heart Zara because they do those silky t-shirty tunicy dresses that nowhere else do, fab with thick tights for a pregnant girl and only twenty squids Smile

I quite like the big zips.
