So has anyone seen this in real life? Is it hideously polyester-ey?

oh i LOVE that feather skirt. if i was twenty years younger etc i would kill for that. and you wore that ludicrous sequin skirt to death a couple of seasons ago, cod, so don't start.

cornsilx · 23/08/2011 21:10

that green dress reminds me of kiera knightley in atonement

FoundWanting · 23/08/2011 21:12

I was looking at that dress, petitemum. I've got a 'do' in October...

callmemalcolm · 23/08/2011 21:14

PetiteMum · 23/08/2011 21:14

callmemalcolm · 23/08/2011 21:15

and fwiw
i like a short BIG skirt. think looks better than maxi shit

wellwisher · 23/08/2011 21:18

I have such a love-hate relationship with Zara:

  • hate most of the stores (too hot/loud/messy)
  • hate the staff (surly Spanish girls)
  • hate the non-existent customer service (Zara will do anything to get out of giving a refund, won't give you a discount on damaged items etc)
  • hate the poor quality (wonky seams, loose buttons, cheap synthetic fabrics)
  • hate the rubbish ethics (Brazilian sweatshops; regardless of where the garment you buy was made, buying ANYTHING from Zara condones this exploitation)
  • love how well they "do" retailing compared to crap British chains - e.g. I was in a store the other day and heard the manager saying to an assistant "it's going to rain later, move the raincoats to the front of the store", and they let each store manager be a "buyer" and choose what pieces their store will take to suit their local clientele
  • love the fast turnover of stock so there's always something new and you rarely see other people with the same thing as you
  • love, love, love the designs (except for the giant exposed metal zips that they are STILL slapping onto everything)
Confused

Friend had a black feather mini skirt last winter - it looked amazing.

PPPop · 23/08/2011 21:19

I like zara, from afar. The kind of shop i go ooh ooh ooh at everything but realise nothing will really suit me. And everything I have had from there has been terrible quality and gone bobbly or saggy after a few wears. Trousers are enormous, I am 5'9" and have had seams dragging on the floor which I should really have had taken up but couldn't get round to doing it.

Like the puffa though. I am tempted by that even though I know I shouldn't.

FoundWanting · 23/08/2011 21:19

The do I'm going to may need a few sparks to help it along. Grin

If you see it, tell us what it's like. I won't be going near the shops for a fortnight.

TrillianAstra · 23/08/2011 21:37

I have clicked every link and don't want any of it.

Apart from maybe a handbag...

MrsCampbellBlack · 23/08/2011 21:48

Aitch - go to Comptoir and Whistles - loads of lovely stuff in there . . .

AitchTwoOh · 23/08/2011 21:54

i am a big comptoir fan, come sale-time. whistles not so much, but then i don't need to do smart stuff particularly.
