I adore it!

It's for an evening wedding - all the guests are only going to the evening, actual marriage is for B&G & their immediate family. It's a city wedding, end of September. I'm wearing black suede heels (simple but v. high & narrow heel).

I'm thinking of grey & pearl pearls but huge, slightly over the top. The neckline actually sits slightly lower than in photo & you can see my collar bone. I'm tall, short dark bob and have a long neck but only ever wear simple hoops or diamond studs in ears.

But thought I'd throw it out there to you style gurus! What say yea oh Wise Ones?! Bag wise, I have a black patent box clutch. Do I need a cocktail ring? What about my unadorned wrists? Budget of about £50ish for necklace. Same again for ring/bracelets (but would love to spend less!).

Oh and I hate Butler and Wilson tat glitz!

The only thing about black earrings is that they might blend into your hair - I don't know how dark you are? But I bet once you try big earrings you never go back Grin

Ifancyashandy · 17/08/2011 12:47

Damn, foiled! I want them to blend Grin!

And while the dress is (when on) blatantly Westwood and doesn't look 'Hobbs', I may well go for a bright, clashing bag. Not a bad idea at all.

Anything to avoid the 'Hobbs', 'Phase 8', 'Mint Velvet' look, for they are the absolute antithesis of me and I'd rather go naked Grin!!

I love the dress but its beauty is its simplicity and structure, I think, I wouldn't wear a necklace with it.

Black shoes/accessories a bit dated, I think. I wouldn't wear nude shoes, but black is just too officey - and cheapens the pink. Clashing bag is good but I'd definitely rethink the shoes.

steamedtreaclesponge · 17/08/2011 13:06

Ah, I didn't mean that the dress would look like it was from Hobbs - it's just the pink/black combo that I was thinking of.

Go on, go for brighter earrings and a clashing bag. Dare you Wink

Ok, slowly coming round to the idea of brights! What about this colour for a bag? Can't quite stretch to that price bracket but as an idea? And maybe dull / burnished gold shoes? But plain stilettos - cannot abide strappy metallic sandals or stripper shoes.

Lovely colour for your bag!

steamedtreaclesponge · 17/08/2011 13:51

Yep, that bag is a beautiful colour. Goldish shoes could be nice too - then you could get the earrings to tie the whole thing together, like these

onelily · 18/08/2011 10:43

i love the bag. bt its too too expensive. wouldn't waste that sort of money on jst a clutch. Btw abt feather earrings, i wud say give them a pass and if u r plannig to wear pearls. go with studs or hoops to the max
