Hi Ladies, using Dh's iPad and don't know how to copy and paste, but 8th Oct suits me, looking forward to catching up with W and A ladies.
Ollie love those M&S tops.
Carciofi that same blouse caught my eye on Wrap website, it's so feminine, love the photos of your DDs.
NYGreat long vests available at H&M.
Don't mind whether we meeet for afternoon tea or later SmileWineBrew

Hello hello! 8th works for me too, can do afternoon tea and on in to the evening if anyone is up for that! How exciting!

Work has been hectic this week, and off tomorrow for a week to mark MiL's birthday. Wore my white Reiss jacket with Black J Brand majors and black top and heels yesterday for work, felt good!

DD2 is all over the place and I am finding it hard to catch up on the links..will return!

wideawakenurse · 06/08/2011 08:20

I am in hell.

My in laws are staying. This is coupled with trying to keep the house looking ready for viewings.

The 8th is good for me too.

Our laptop should be back in a week or two and then I am back with you all.

Right, off to have another conversation with SIL where I have to justify spending more than £1.99 on a haircut.

Good times!

NanAstley · 06/08/2011 09:13

Hello everyone. If anyone remembers me, I'm back from my hiatus. I say hiatus...but the thruth is I was reading this thread every day Grin

I'm still job-less (literally no jobs on the market Sad) but feeling a bit better, having accepted my grandmother's death and come to terms with it.

So many people seem to have moved since I last posted. red and roary best of luck in your new homes.

bloss your capsule working wardrobe sounds delish. I'm going to bookmark it for when my turn comes Grin

Loving all the new purchases. I've been very sedate this month as I want to splurge on an investment coat. Pure wool preferably...somethign that will make me feel spoilt this winter (and the next few!). If anyone has any suggetions I'm all ears.

Meanwhile though, I have spent money on a brand new armchair. It's this one. Can't wait for it to arrive!

blossoming · 06/08/2011 09:21

Hi nan. So great to have you back with your JL links! Glad you're feeling better.
Good to see you too wan. I feel for you, I really do. I cannot imagine a worse hell than having ILs to stay!
Back later, with less hangover hopefully!

carciofi · 06/08/2011 10:04

Apuski, lovely tops. I hope J Crew start shipping here soon, I thought they were supposed to start this month. I love the CdeC clothes too, I have the babysitter twice next week (then that's it :() so going to head to Richmond to look at the new range one of the days.

Wan, be strong!

Portia, thanks.

Nan, glad you are feeling better. What colour coat do you want?

I would love to meet in the afternoon, the only problem for me is whether DH will look after both girls (at the moment it is too much for him!) so pick whatever date suits the rest of you and I will try to make it.

notyummy · 06/08/2011 10:37

Hi all - have added my name plus those of the other ladies who had mentioned a date but weren't on the list. I still have the spreadsheet of names Blush if we need it nearer the time!

Have DD back after she had a great week with my mum and dad. It was great to see her and we had some lovely cuddles! My Dad said the afternoon he had spent with her running round the garden and squirting each other with the hosepipe was 'one of the reasons I wanted a grandchild - so much fun!' Smile

That's great notyummy. maybe we should take further discussions off board now? Dh has put it on the calendar!

redllamayellowllama · 06/08/2011 13:45

I know bloss, but all this moving meant the wedding caught me off my A game. Went for old reliable Whistles bows with nude heels as killer electric blue reiss number was dipping dangerously low and anticipate much running around with DCs. Traffic appalling, so hope we make it.

Good to see you nan!

Breathe and smile wan, breathe and smile...

ApuskiDusky · 06/08/2011 13:58

Yes, red, adorable DCs are the best accessories you can have when meeting up with partner's ex! Have fun!

notyummy · 06/08/2011 14:24

If anyone has the Times today, then there is woman on the front of the magazine wearing my Zara maxi. Part of an article about teenage boob jobs [ hmm]....

OllieinOrange · 06/08/2011 14:42

Oh NY - that has just made me really LOL!

WAN hang on in there - ILs and morning sickness is a double whammy.

Big wave to Nan - we've missed you but glad you were keeping up to date!

Looks like 8th is good for most of us - hope others like Icecream & Everyspring can also make it too? Will anyone else be needing a hotel room? I liked where we stayed last time. Fritzi - do you need a roomy again if I promise not to be such a lightweight this time? Breakfast in bed was a real treat tho.....Smile

You can never have too any carbs as far as I am concerned so afternoon tea has a big thumbs up from me! The Wolseley is just lovely but no seperate area in which to mingle. Would a private dining room cost anything - am totally clueless about such things.

Weather in October can be surprisingly lovely too - a 'tea in the park' type event is a possibility and if it rains, we just pile into the nearest W&A house?!!!! (thats a joke before all London based W&A's run away from thread in horror!)
Already fretting about what to wear - how about a mass Agnes/Houlihan flashmob?

Bloss thats great news about the Boden cardi. Wish Wrap could bloody well find a spare blouse hanging around instead of having to wait til end of Oct! My 40th is not until December but DH's is the week before the new MOAMU. All he wants me to buy him as a boat!

OP posts:
Fleecy · 06/08/2011 14:43

Welcome back nan

Congratulations reallygrumpy

I won't make any late Sept/Oct dates as my section is booked for 3 Oct and DD was 3wks early so I won't be going too far from home for a while beforehand just in case!

We went shopping for laptops this morning. Both of ours are on the way out and increasingly unreliable which isn't great when we're with clients! Problem is that I like ones that look good and DH has struggled to find one I like (he is far less fussy!). So our initial £500/600 each has gone out the window and we have returned home with a Macbook Pro for me and high spec Sony Vaio for him Blush Tax deductible though, right? Grin

Have you booked a holiday yet marsha?

OllieinOrange · 06/08/2011 14:58

Are poncho's still a good A/W buy this year? Know a few liked the WC one last year. Saw this one from Mexx in a shop window and it looked nice here. I've never found one that wasn't too long and had me fumbling around when trying to get arms down and out from under it!

OP posts:
AntPants1 · 06/08/2011 17:26

WAN I feel for you. Think of the brownie points you will be earning with your DH......

NY your parents sound wonderful! Am really jealous!

red I am sure you will rock your outfit at the wedding!

Welcome back NAN have you tried max mara or Reiss or jaeger for winter coats? In my ideal world that's where I'd go.....

blossoming · 06/08/2011 18:26

Talking of the Times magazine today, there were some interesting bits in it. I especially liked this outfit on the style pages: navy shorts, red and white stripe top and navy jacket. Also there were some high heeled brogue type shoes in 'nude' suede from Monsoon of all places which I thought could be useful, although not, maybe in the rain. Finally a £9.99 wonder cream from Garnier recommended by Sarah Vine.
(I don't normally get so much out of the Saturday magazine!)

pickledsiblings · 06/08/2011 19:23

Those Monsoon shoes are v.nice Bloss.

IceCreamCastles · 06/08/2011 20:55

Hi all, am back from lovely break in Cornwall and have returned to the new love of my life- my earhearts! They are great although still slightly roomy which is probably advisable for the next couple of months.

Sorry you've been so ill WAN. Hope it passes soon.

Welcome back nan- glad your feeling better and didn't miss out on too much.

8th is good for me and all plans sound very agreeable. I could probably swing an overnight stay but only if Ollie promises to make breakfast this time!

Sorry I've missed so many people out- am wading through laundry and eagerly awaiting an Indian takeaway.

Have good evenings everyone.

redllamayellowllama · 06/08/2011 21:27

Wedding was lovely, although we missed the ceremony Blush. Outfit was perfect - was a little on the overdressed side, but hell. DCs were immaculately behaved.

Glad you love your Earharts IceCream - I can't get out of mine. How are you feeling?

Carciofi - bring DD2 along if needs be; would be lovely to see a W&A baby.

Annie not sure of the page in the paper as have only seen it online - she's the redhead in 'London's hippest lesbian hangouts'.

redllamayellowllama · 06/08/2011 21:29

Ooh those are lovely Monsoon shoes - I have a near identical pair in dark brown leather from Bertie that I got a lot of wear from last winter.

IceCreamCastles · 06/08/2011 22:03

Oops red! One of our ushers missed our ceremony! Sure you looked great- never knowingly underdressed etc etc. Even better that your dcs were on good form.

I'm feeling ok thanks. Main complaint is (I shall try to put this delicately) a 'slow digestion' Blush but other than that all good and tiredness seems to be passing.

Dh took dd to get my birthday present today and she told me what it was as soon as she saw me! No surprises here any more Grin.

pickledsiblings · 07/08/2011 09:56

Morning All Smile

IceCream, glad you had a lovely holiday, you were lucky with the weather weren't you? The Earharts are so soft, they will be great over the next few months - comfy and stylish. What did DH buy you for your b'day then? It's mine today and I got a lovely pink Roberts DAB radio; a huge act of unselfishness on DH's behalf. It is also our anniversary (12 years) and I have bought him a giant Mexican hammock Grin.

Red, I loved Bloss and Apuski's words of wisdom about the wedding (and the exGF). Hurrah for well behaved DC and for being fashionably late and dressed to the nines.

MarshaBrady · 07/08/2011 09:57

Morning fabbo that so many can make the same date. Very pleased!!

NanAstley welcome back, what sort of work are you looking for (don't worry if you don't want to say on here of course).

Carciofi can you enlist help for your dh?

Good one NY on keeping the spreadsheet. Could be useful when deciding venue. I am happy with swish such as Wolseley and am always happy to introduce some bubbles and keep going Grin I don't mind not having private as I like to feel out out (anyone seen that comedian?) and see other well-dreseed people milling about. Emo you are a social whirlwind. Have you been to any great places you loved lately? Ollie one day, when I get my dream house I would do that for sure.

Fleecy yy to Crete! All very exciting, even my family were impressed. We are saving a lot by going in October so bit of risk with the weather. But we wanted 5* without paying for it so worth the risk hopefully. How exciting re new computers. The 27" new mac turned up last week here and it was like getting a new puppy. Everyone so excited. Wireless keyboard and mouse. Bliss! And definitely tax deductible. Enjoy, so nice.

Ollie I really like that poncho. Capes are probably a bit harder to carry from last year, but a simple nice poncho always look good imo.(haha at typing those words).

Icecream glad you had a lovely holiday.
