OP posts:
blossoming · 28/07/2011 09:55

Is it moving day today red? Sending you positive thoughts, and best wishes for your new life in Bristol.

blossoming · 28/07/2011 09:58

Positive weather vibes to you dolcee!

MarshaBrady · 28/07/2011 10:09

Have a wonderful meet up Bloss, Ants and Carciofi.

WAN you poor thing, I hope you are feeling a bit better.

I am attempting to work while enjoy the sun and, oh the children of course.

I'm sorry I am missing you today but SO pleased that lots can make it to the next meet up, night time one (I am happy with another date, and happy to fit in with those that travel furthest).

Pickled completely agree re peter pan collars, think forgotten her name, should branch out into something else (also had to check the dress I bought didn't have one).

notyummy · 28/07/2011 10:10

Yes - have a great mini meet-up!!

ApuskiDusky · 28/07/2011 10:12

Morning!

Sorry to hear you've been so ill WAN, you have my complete sympathy, brings back horrible memories of the first 3 months with ds2 . Meds worked for me, though I know not everyone is comfortable enough with the idea to take them. Really hope it passes quickly for you.

Dolcee, have a great holiday!

Bloss / Carciofi / Ants, happy meet-up!

And red, hope moving day goes smoothly. I'm trying to sort out a viewing for a rental property that came on yesterday which would be great, but it's tenanted so they need to give 24 hours' notice. But DH is away tomorrow so I will have to see it and decide on my own (well, with dc in tow) if we can't view til then. Assuming someone else hasn't nabbed it by then. .

.

pickledsiblings · 28/07/2011 10:29

Apuski, think calm thoughts...you are in Paris, you are single and you have a fab wardrobe, oh and most important of all...you are 25

WAN, poor you. As DH used to remind me, morning sickness means that the baby is winning the 'fight' and becoming well established.

Bloss, Ants and Carciofi, hope the sun shines for you and the DC are well behaved Smile. Have a lovely get-together.

Fearne looks good Ollie (in spite of her collar Grin) - not sure about Alexa though. Marsha, you could do a PP collar better than either of those two.

DS1 has just had his first piano lesson - he is such a sweet boy IIDSSM.

blossoming · 28/07/2011 10:43

Have booked dinosaurs for tomorrow but just saw that my space obsessed ds would probably prefer science museum. Should have read my guide book beforehand! Will attempt both.

notyummy · 28/07/2011 11:06

I don't think I could pull off a Peter Pan collar. Am too tall/nearly 40 and would look like I am trying to wear my little sisters clothes. Also have quite big, beachy hair and in my head, that doesn't work with that sort of thing. I am not sure all my view of this is entirely logical though.....

And I am sure some of you will look good in them!!

redllamayellowllama · 28/07/2011 12:38

Hope you have a fab meet today ladies. So sorry you're feeling so awful WAN, hope it improves soon. I second Pickled's sentiments about the pros (??) of morning sickness.

Moving day is going well - very efficient guys. Left DH to delegate whilst we spent the morning in Greenwich Park (for the last time - sob - bloody love the park and it's a 5 minute walk from where we are now). We're moving to WOT Dolcee (have a lovely holiday btw).

Van won't arrive till 7 tonight which should cock up bedtimes royally, but nevermind.

Apuski if they need to give 24 hrs it will be the same for everyone, so it can't get snapped up. Fingers crossed.

blossoming · 28/07/2011 17:20

I am in a cab on my way back to the hotel. I am parched from talking so much. Lovely to meet ants and reine. We must be very talkative a&w'ers!

AntPants1 · 28/07/2011 18:30

Lovely afternoon with bloss and reine. reine lives round the corner from me and her DD will be starting at the same school as mine in sept!!! What are the chances of that!

pickledsiblings · 28/07/2011 19:13

Ants and Reine, that's amazing - how lovely for all of you Smile.

Red, thinking of you as you close a little chapter Sad.

Emo76 · 28/07/2011 19:51

Hi everyone, back from hols a couple of days early due to baby sleeping REALLY badly and unseasonably awful weather in N Italy/Marche. Beautiful villa hotel near Fano if anyone wants recommendations!

Have typically completely overindulged in the local cuisine and beverages but in all a good trip and was right to cut it short, DD2 now crawling, cruising and has forgotten how to sleep. Coupled with rain all day not ideal. DD1 and Dh have stayed on and are driving home over weekend. However she is nearly 10 months now and utterly adorable in every other way. Will read thread properly - do I see a meet up being planned - count me in!

One thing I wondered whilst on hols - there are a number of books written about French women's style, but I don't know of any on Italian style - and I have to say I rather like what I (mostly) saw, I love that they wear bright colours, navy and browns as well as black (you don't actually see many women wearing all black now I think of it). Of course I am hopeless at copying the "look" but still, some food for thought.

Finally please indulge me - I must share this : Passing a "sexy shop" sign on Italian motorway ...DD1 to us: what is sex? DH: explains it is another word for how baby is made (she understands the "mechanics") DD1: Can I watch you next time you have sex? DH/me stifiling laughter : No

PS olly I saw loads of Dutch cars on the roads and thought of you! WAN oh gosh you poor thing, hope things get better soon. red good luck for the move - get the broadband up and running sharpish!

ApuskiDusky · 28/07/2011 19:57

Hello Emo, welcome home! Glad you had a good time overall, albeit curtailed a little. Hope you manage to catch up on some sleep now.

Red - Welcome to your new home! Wine Cheers, wishing you many happy years in Brizzle! (and lots of lovely visits back to the big city - remember it's not far..)

LTEC · 28/07/2011 20:43

bloss hope you got my message this arvo and had a lovely lovely day with the others. Sorry to have missed you.

Fleecy · 28/07/2011 21:27

Hope you settle in quickly red

Sorry to hear how poorly you've been wan

Happy holidays ICC and welcome back emo

How was the mini meet-up?

I am off to Jersey for the weekend to see my friend and her 2mo baby. So cute! Hope the sun shines for you all and I'll see you next week Smile

blossoming · 29/07/2011 08:56

Morning all.
I have just had a hotel breakfast and seen the Landsend catalogue come to life!
Off to museums this morning and can't wait for some 'me' time at the salon later. Dh will have to take them to Hamleys while I'm there. Wish him luck!

pickledsiblings · 29/07/2011 09:58

Emo, glad you had a nice time in Italy - pity about the weather. Don't worry, it hasn't been any better here. How old is your eldest DD? Roadtrip with dad sounds like fun, did she enjoy it?

Bloss Grin at Landsend catalogue. Enjoy your me time. Our trips to London revolve around food; hummingbird bakery for dessert after a quick Pret sandwich/salad and Dim Sum near the RFH. I love London although the museums etc get a little crowded in the holidays. As for DH, thank goodness it's not Christmas. Looking forward to an Autumn meet-up.

Off to friend's for the w/e, have a good one y'all.

pickledsiblings · 29/07/2011 10:02

This Boden bikini is frumptastic btw, don't go there .

ReineDeSaba · 29/07/2011 10:21

Thanks again for letting me join the mini meet at the 11th hour yesterday..was great to see you again bloss and meet the lovely ants

Am woefully behind on thread as all kinds of summer holiday stuff going on but sorry you are feeling so poorly WAN but I hope the news that The Agnes were out yesterday, thanks to bloss and looked very fetching indeed.

just to let you all know there was a makeover yesterday.. ant's DD made my DD1's day with some lippy and glitter..she wants to paint me in Girls' world makeup today..am so far resisting.

Will come back over weekend to catch up but hi to everyone Smile

ReineDeSaba · 29/07/2011 10:22

sorry..meant to say the news that The Agnes were out helped cheer you up a little..

blossoming · 29/07/2011 12:29

I am amazed at people in beachwear carrying beachbags in the natural history museum.

OllieinOrange · 29/07/2011 12:34

Speaking of Agnes, I have received, I have tried, I have worn! They look great from the front, lovely soft material and good length on me. I'm ignoring the Kim Kardashian effect on my bum tho and will look out for A/W knitwear that flatters - and go back to Shred! Thank you for whoever it was pointed them out on sale at Donna Ida. I'm a very happy Ollie!

The mini meet up sounded lovely. How funny about Reine and Ants living so close!

Hope your day at the museum was nice Bloss.

Red how is the unpacking going?
Welcome back Emo - shame about the weather - we had the same in our second week and I feel slightly cheated out of a properly holiday!

Boden update - the Barcelona cardi in grey from A/W was ok (lovely thick wool) but like Carciofi said not nice enough to justify the cost (bit shapeless on me). The Bella jumper in military blue is lovely but I need to size down. Boys woolly hats are v cute!

OP posts:
reallygrumpy · 29/07/2011 12:50

Hi A&W ladies, just popping in quickly to say I had a gorgeous DD earlier this week. It was by CS so I'm feeling v battered and bruised but all worth it. Off to catch up on the thread now and I may have to name-change because my name definitely doesn't match my current mood Grin

ApuskiDusky · 29/07/2011 12:56

We might have found a house to rent - I dragged the dc's to Bristol this morning to have a look and I think it'll work. A bit noisy as it's close to an A road, but I think tolerable - there's no way I'd buy that close to a busy road, but somehow it matters less when renting as you don't have to worry about resale. I'm now waiting for DH to get back so we can head back down and apply - they only put forward applications at the end of the day, so getting in first won't help us.

Obv not sold our house yet, but we worked out that we can comfortably manage the rent if we drop to interest only payments on our mortgage here, so it should be a goer.

Ollie, glad that Agnes is a keeper!
