Reine there is a stunning wedding cake in Harry Eastwood's book the I've always wanted to make. It's 3 tiers and decorated with yellow roses. Would something like that suit?

NY great haul. Particularly like the dress. Hope all your prep goes well over the weekend. Any nearer to an outfit for it?

OWW if there are no immediate pressures to move, I'd wait till the perfect place comes up. I always think your neighbourhood sounds so lovely and would be in no rush to leave it! Any news on the lovely house with the reluctant sellers?

Everyspring have you got a Kindle? DH has a Moleskine kindle case with notebook that I covet as much as the Kindle itself (which I am slowly monopolising with my downloads).

Hope you have a lovely break Fritzi - nice way to celebrate Mother's day.

WAN glad you feel relaxed after a bit of a break from work.

Spent 3 hours photographing and listing for EBay last night -it had better sell!

Hi everyone
Went to mother and toddler group today for the first time in months. Why does every minute feel like 10 when I'm there? Even though there are lovely mothers there who I enjoy talking to?

reine, good to have you back. I cannot help you I'm afraid, although, now I come to think of it, what about this one and there's a video to help you.

Hi zembo, good to hear from you too. How are you feeling these days? Have you made any decisions about your job? I linked a gorgeous emerald green bikini the other day which would look sensational on you I'm sure, and it also comes in purple and a hot pink: here. Designer must be a winter!
On a similar note, I got the Figleaves catalogue through the post today and they had beach cover ups in short and maxi style for £35 and £40 in black navy and raspberry Here, although they looked better in the catalogue!

Glad things are going well for you annie, I don't know how you do it or you notyummy. Dh has been away for 2 nights this week and I'm barely coping!

Meant to say, I'm intrigued at mrscb 'recognising' dolcee, and at portia and verity meeting up.
What would you say? How would you approach it?

MrsCampbellBlack · 06/05/2011 13:41

Bloss - I have doclee on fb so do know what she looks like Smile

blossoming · 06/05/2011 13:57

Oh not so random then! I thought you just saw a stylish lady in Cribbs and thought, ah - must be dolcee!

NY re your important presentation - what about that beige/black striped dress you posted a pic of on here - can't remember where it was from but you looked great in it - or is that not corporate enough?
Redlama & EN* I think you've nailed it by saying we are in no rush so should wait for the right house to come along. DH being so stubborn over extending this house - I may just get plans drawn up to try and convince him! The house with the reluctant sellers is still for sale but now we have seen this other one, we now know how v, v overpriced it is.

Reine glad you had a good holiday. Any purchases of note whilst there? Re your skirt dilema - I always shy away from skirts as I never know what to wear with them without looking frumpy/too coordinated but thought this DM article was quite good here

Time to do some gardening - its a jungle out there!

I go away from the thread for two days and so many old regulars come flocking back. It wasn't me keeping you away, was it? Grin (joking, but surreptitiously checks breath anyway)

Another mini a&w meet-up; how funny!

Plum a Waitrose on Queen Street?? When did that happen??
Yes, Cardiff is great now. Shopping, pubs etc, all really good. What we need now is some big-name restaurants (kind of like Jamie's) as there is a big gastronomic hole in the market

On other news, I bought two dresses in the Damsel In A Dress sale (will link later). Also I weighed myself today and I've lost 4 lbs in the last three weeks Shock. I think it's down to breast-feeding as I haven't been exercising. I was going to stop bf, but am tempted to keep going if it really helps me lose weight Blush

wideawakenurse · 06/05/2011 15:49

Nan - we ate in the restaurant in the Park Plaza which was excellent and then a Chinese in the bay.

Bar Ha Ha is now a Browns.

blossoming · 06/05/2011 16:08

Oh no, I loved Ha Has! But I guess that was 10 years ago... Drinking 'large' wines, smoking inside..those were the days.

Thank you for your help on the cake front ladies..my brother just called to say his lovely fiance is worried about it 'being too much' ..I think she watches me turn into Jack Nicholson's character from 'the Shining'every time I do a birthday cake so is rightfully worried!

OWW thanks for the skirt pointers, article very helpful..I did buy a few things and will try to link later though not sure I will be able to find them.

Nan I would love to STOP bfing 13month old..got asked the other day if I was still doing to boost my bra size Shock ..er no!!

like the way we are all bumping into eachother in RL now!

blossoming · 06/05/2011 16:32

Here's another one for the list:
Mothers group 10 pin bowling and scampi and chips, both in v rural locations. Tonight.
I have no idea right now.

blossoming · 06/05/2011 16:34

Oh, and I've already been to mother and toddler group in a Breton.

NanAstley · 06/05/2011 16:48

Never been in Park Plaza; will give it a try when we get a babysitter next. Sad that Ha Ha has changed. DH and I had a lot of memories from our dating days in Ha Ha and Bar Fly, both of which are no more (sniff)

dolceebanana · 06/05/2011 16:59

Gorgeous weather. Am just chilling the rose for later, to have with garlic prawns and tarragon chicken salad. And sitting in garden in halterneck top and white linen skirt.

Oh Bloss- we braved toddlers today. Stressy as DD2 climbs everything and squawks at my efforts to curtail her fun!!! DD1 was there too and said she was bored several times!!!! Hmmmm.

Bloss you really must set up an FB page. You don't need photos - I have hardly any on my site, but it would be good....Used to love Ha Ha's too. Actually the one in Bath is okay with kiddies in tow.

Right, what does everyone think to these [http://www.johnlewis.com/187557/Style.aspx sandals] Can't make my mind up. Looked quite nice on, face on, but a tad chunky from the side...IFYSWIM....

dolceebanana · 06/05/2011 17:00

Buggered up the link somehow; it's been so long [http://www.johnlewis.com/187557/Style.aspx]

dolceebanana · 06/05/2011 17:01

How about J Brands, flats and the twisty front top you have Bloss?

blossoming · 06/05/2011 17:32

Thanks dolcee. I do have a facebook page. All my 'friends' are local mums/dads Confused and others who are not my friends and don'
t even speak to me in the street. I would no more update my profile (off to cut my hair in London -imagine) than I would tell them in rl. And the thought of photos of foreign holidays?? These people have never left town!
So my page is useless.
Thanks for the outfit idea. I need new dk vintage j brands as these have faded at the knees. So it will be my sexy black ones, black top and silver scarf probably. With Pure jacket or Zara blazer. Cool here.

Can't open your link right now, will do later.

Úsed to frequent Ha Ha's in Bristol - big fan of their chunky chips or wedges!

Agree with Dolcee re Bloss and Fritzi setting up FB pages in their MN names!!! Just create a new email address containing Bloss etc to avoid your usual email address being used?

Bloss - J Brands, Bloss top (or grey vest top you brought to meet up?), with blazer for drinks bit?

Wine in the fridge too - just waiting for DH to get in before opening it and gulping a large glass down in one
Quiet weekend planned - quite enjoyed my potter in the garden this afternoon - planted several blue hydrangea plants to see if they live long enough to fill some gaps! I'm a garden centre's dream - clueless about what to plant so just buy, plant and (usually) replace!

MarshaBrady · 06/05/2011 17:44

Oh no I'll be the one without fb.

Seen the movie. On the plane. That was good.

Feel like buying a floral, skippy skirt for this lovely beautiful weather.

blossoming · 06/05/2011 17:53

ollie, that's a great idea! Seeing as my real one has been sabotaged!

I will work on it this weekend.
marsha, I can just picture that!
