I haven't as yet submitted to the full beard and elasticated waistband trousers. But heck, it's hard isn't it? I absolutely love clothes, make-up, and all that shit.... but I am becoming more and more interested in my garden (not a euph). Last night I went to the garage to buy milk in my gardening clothes.

Anyone else going through the same thing? Have you any tips you can share?

I have heard that too about undereating, I'm eating slightly more since stopped smoking and haven't piled on too much weight. Will get some Linseed Oil.

Anyone tried Evening Primrose for flushes, I discussed this with my doc and might be worth a try before I go on synthetic hormones.

Just got the tape measure out for the first time in years. 37/27/36. Long way off my 36/23/33 that I was in my prime but not too bad. I am only 5ft 2 so every inch shows. I am going to cut out puds and going walking tonight. Might even try cutting down on the wine (never drink if I have work in the morning but off on long hols atm). I've allowed myself to be lax since quitting the cigs so might have to sack that idea and work on that later. Won't go shopping until I've trimmed up. Can anyone share where they shop for this stylish 50 something look. On a budget. My usual places/price range is Next/DP's but couldn't find anything suitable yesterday.

Unfortunately I got sun damage on my chest in my late 20's so have had wrinkles there for years. Don't understand how that contraption can prevent neck wrinkles but anyone who has tried it, please report back. It might be worth investing in. Grin

I hate running, but can do 5k on the treadmill. I don't seem to be able to get the pace right on the road. But I keep thinking I should try.....

Will you be posting the daily program on here?

Sorry km, you lovely thing. How could I be so staid? Must be my age.. Grin

Noddy. Dh is 7 years younger than me

LadyCornyOfSilk · 24/04/2011 12:48

getting together to run a 5k sounds like a great idea - bet you lot all live in London though!
I read in a running magazine that there's a 90 minute window after a run(didn't say how long the run had to be - your max I suppose) where your body burns up any food that you eat.
I'm in with the couch to 5k thing - only run on the treadmill so running outside will be new for me.

LadyCornyOfSilk · 24/04/2011 12:50

yy to weight training as well. I have no joint problems and have been doing weights for as few years now. Body pump is a good way to start off. It's meant to be really beneficial in later life if you weight train.

LadyCornyOfSilk · 24/04/2011 12:52

shock absorbers are on brand alley at the moment if anyone needs one.

BecauseImWoeufIt · 24/04/2011 12:57

I'm going to have to go the gym as well, aren't I ...

LadyCornyOfSilk · 24/04/2011 12:59

yes you are!
Nike on brand alley as well. I need to get some decent kit to run outside. I look like a painter and decorator in my gym stuff.

cyb · 24/04/2011 13:11

See, I can run 5 k. I ran it the other week. I just choose not too for some bone idle reason

Me and my similarly afflicted 40+ friend went for a 7 mile walk/goss this morning and then both weighed ourselves at hers. We both said having lithe, smooth skinned teen girl daighters does NOTHING for ones fragile self esteem.

I'm going to lose 10lbs, she's got about a stone an a half to lose

WE WILL DO IT AS GOD IS OUR WITNESS

cyb · 24/04/2011 13:13

Oh and I started mauling my lips about this morning and saw to my horror that a couple of my back teeth are

looking a bit too much like this

FFS

Pagwatch · 24/04/2011 13:14

yeah! as god is my witness!

cyb · 24/04/2011 13:21

atta girl Pag!

I had a high protein brunch post walk

About my H he is 50 next year but looks younger than me. I hate him. He weighs less than me most of the time too

LadyCornyOfSilk · 24/04/2011 13:30

as God is my witness I will loose the gunt (and half a stone)

mittenkitten007 · 24/04/2011 13:46

I will lose the thighs . . . and the belly.

minieggfannomore · 24/04/2011 13:47

Crossword - I had a breast reduction last year (age 51). It was definitely worth it. I feel so much better and I can run without giving myself 2 black eyes.

cyb · 24/04/2011 14:01

I hope you are all eating rotten radishes while you are making these promises
