Very exciting, I have been invited to the Royal Wedding but I need some help deciding what to wear...

Well of course I haven't.

But I was musing with DD this morning and I suggested I might wear my wedding dress to watch the television.
She responded with a Hmm

So, if you were invited, and money was no object, what would you wear?
I think you should stick with the body type you have, although actually as this is fantasy, you can all be blessed with bodies of supermodels if you so desire.

And if you are pregnant, let's have a range of maternity gear, after all, Victoria Beckham might have to choose something along those lines (I do feel for her, invite of the century and v heavily pregnant!, although a lovely DD will no doubt sweeten the pain)

I'm starting with the hat and going from there.

What do you think?

JemimaMop · 17/04/2011 13:44

This?

ButterflyLove · 17/04/2011 13:44

I'll join in! I love this dress! I'd wear it with nude heels, a gold fascinator and a gold clutch!
If only I was really invited!!

Northernlurker · 17/04/2011 13:45

Ooooh I'm in - so body shape and budget no limiting factor............

snowybaby · 17/04/2011 13:46

oo..i like pretending on what to wear and what to dress other people!!
this can take whole day trawling the net!!

Northernlurker · 17/04/2011 13:49

i'm liking this

purepurple · 17/04/2011 13:52

jemimamop This is what you need Grin

Northernlurker · 17/04/2011 13:53

Or maybe I would pop over to New York to see Vera Wang?

BigChiefOrganiser · 17/04/2011 13:55

Love that dress Northern.

For this occasion how would it work, a more tailored number for the ceremony, more formal for the banquet and then a party dress for the disco? Or one outfit that can be changed a bit to suit all three parts of the day?

Jaquelinehyde · 17/04/2011 13:58

Sticking with my own body shape I would wear this

Northernlurker · 17/04/2011 14:00

I don't thinbk anybody other than the bride will have a chance to change so I think you need dress and jacket with hat/headpiece for the ceremony and then remove jacket and hat for party

Northernlurker · 17/04/2011 14:01

So glad I'm not in the uneviable position of being parent to one of the 3 yr old bridesmaids. As well as all the stress - what will you do with your toddler at wedding bag? Where will you hide the boxes of raisin and small quiet toys not to mention the complete change of clothes, portable potty and three pairs of pants?

JemimaMop · 17/04/2011 14:05

Oh purple that is excellent!

Or, as they will one day be the Prince and Princess of Wales maybe I should wear this to remind them of the last native Prince of Wales...

beanlet · 17/04/2011 14:06

Hourglass here and currently curvier than usual, so would channel Sophia Loren and wear an Italian designer who loves real women. Maybe Moschino.

Alternatively Vivienne Westwood couture.

DarrellRivers · 17/04/2011 14:07

Maxmara go to page 4 , slit to thigh, purple full length

Although not suitable for the cathedral really, perhaps for the disco hosted by Prince Charles

Will be back with more

DarrellRivers · 17/04/2011 14:10

or this from Valentino

OP posts:
Bumbags · 17/04/2011 14:48

lush p29 of Valentino

if only DH and I were going!

Wonder how much this outfit will cost!

Bumbags · 17/04/2011 14:52

do you think these shoes will clash beautifully or bit naff?

They are only £995. Smile

bristolcities · 17/04/2011 15:35

Lanvin

With Miu Miu shoes

And http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/101170 Theory Jacket

And a Phillip Treacy masterpiece on my bonce.

bristolcities · 17/04/2011 15:36

Theory Jacket

Bumbags · 17/04/2011 15:40

Bristolcities

Think you can do better than that!

The dress is ok but not very flattering on many people and not keen on the jacket.

But if that is what you want to wear then fine

Ishalljustoutshineyou Wink

bristolcities · 17/04/2011 15:44

I'm going for understated, and the Phillip Treacy hat and my face are going to finish the look beautifully. And the jacket adds a certain edge.

Bumbags · 17/04/2011 15:49

The jacket does not add an edge. Twill look like a brown dress with black jacket.

Try again.

Do not forget that with my outfit I am 5ft 10 with long legs, clear fresh dewy skin and hair that people gasp at as it is soooo shiny!
