Only with jeans and linen trousers in summer.
As an alternative to converse type shoes.

I have very skinny feet and ballet pumps don't really fit.

(I am not young but neither do i want to be frumpy- I am reasonably fashionable.)

I like those.

AintMissBeehiving · 02/04/2011 14:12

No.

cabbageroses · 02/04/2011 14:14

One each then.

I thought they were a variation on Mary Janes.

MickyLee · 02/04/2011 14:15

I like them. But like you say, only with jeans or wider leg trousers.

SycamoretreeIsVile · 02/04/2011 14:15

I would need to see them in the flesh so to speak. They could possibly work, in the right context.

JojoLapin · 02/04/2011 14:19

No, I find them a little boring and hippyish.

jojo- like me then!
Perfect.

I am undecided and need to see in the flesh too- but thought they might be "possibles".

I do quite a lot of city walking and need comfort to wear with trousers when it's warm.

Beleive me skinny feet are no joke. Nothing fits. I have the start of a bunion where I have squeezed my feet into half a size too small over the years to get a tighter fit.

JojoLapin · 02/04/2011 14:24

I should have typed nothing wrong about hippyish!!!

cabbageroses · 02/04/2011 14:25

lol- I am not really hippyish but had hippy aspirations in the 70s.

Unless you have serious orthopaedic problems, shoes like this always make me think your parents are still buying your clothes. Everything about them says "sensible". Also "fugly".

What about brogues? Kitten heels? Chelsea boots?

cabbageroses · 02/04/2011 14:31

kitten heels for walking 5 miles across London in the heat? errr no.

Cattleprod · 02/04/2011 14:32

I like cabbageroses' suggestion in the raspberry colour.

Neither styles are narrow fit though. They are a D fitting which is average/wide. They'd still be like boats on my AA feet!!

missmyoldname · 02/04/2011 14:33

Have you tried Next - I bought these recently and love them. They are a bit more formal than a 'converse' type look, but they look lovely with jeans.

They've got super-comfy soles, and fit my thin feet perfectly.

Cattleprod · 02/04/2011 14:33

Should have said 'second suggestion'.

yama · 02/04/2011 14:39

The first pair - yes, I think they could look quite cool with the right clothes.

The second pair - no.

cabbageroses · 02/04/2011 14:39

I have looked at those in Next- they are possibles though I am a bit anti- flowers- look a little bit little girly on a woman my age :)

cabbage you have to suffer for fashion girl. I really want Alexa Chung's little closed toe ankle strap kitten heels, though why I've developed a style crush on a girl young enough to be my daughter I've no idea.

I've gone for Chelsea boots and would definitely recommend them.

These are the ones I mean. When oh when will the high street do a pair in my price bracket?

cabbageroses · 02/04/2011 14:46

yes but boots are simply too hot for summer.

do you actually walk anywhere? Smile
I have loads of boots- about 5 pairs.

I have skinny legs too- but they will be covered up- would only wear with skinny jeans or floppy linen.
