As an alternative to converse type shoes.

I have very skinny feet and ballet pumps don't really fit.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound ageist. All I mean is that I wear different shoes now I'm in my 30s to what I wore in my early 20s (lived in heels, now mostly flats). People I work with who are in their 40s and over wear different style shoes to what I would wear now. Imo some style are generally worn by older women.

I am looking for some shoes for a particular purpose- that's the point.

I love shoes- the more Jimmy Choo the better. BUT I need something that can stand a pounding across London - i avoid the tube and walk up to 6 miles in a day- ( not every day- just now and then!).

I couldn't wear anything so ugly. AintMissBeehiving I still wear sky high heels and I'm 60 this year. Somethings are worth the discomfort.

WHAT! You mean that I won't suddenly have a craving for elasticated waisbands and velcro fasteners on shoes?

I wouldn't give a monkeys about what other people thought when it comes to shoes - especially if you have to do a lot of walking. Go for comfort every time!!

I think they're hideous also but the clogs are marginally more attractive.
