New thread here!

OP posts:
Fleecy · 16/04/2011 23:06

Yay for you fritzi - definitely the right decision!

FritziGreenEyes · 16/04/2011 23:23

Lots of gorgeous Scandinavian guys here Smile. Hope there will be some dancing soon! Can we have dancing at next MOAMU please?

OllieWollieWoo · 17/04/2011 08:10

Party (and Scandinavian guys) sound great Fritzi!
Everspring - glad you are making the most of your bike. I too use mine as an excuse to eat ice cream or chocolate! I went to the garden centre on mine yesterday and came home with various plants in my basket, in the paniers and on DSs seat! I looked like a moving plant display!

I need to get some fake tan as legs are beyond white at the mo. Has anyone used the Fake Bake brand? Has good reviews and is supposed to smell nice.
Other one I'm looking at is the St Tropez Everyday Gradual Tan.

carciofi · 17/04/2011 09:35

Ants, FASHION15 for 15% off plus free delivery! I got a maternity catalogue yesterday but hopefully it will work on the 365 range.

OWW, I know, I always forget that too. I liked that card and gift shop. I used to go to the Pont de la Tour deli a lot. There was a gorgeous French guy who worked there, do you remember him?! Emo, yes, we used to go there and also to the Bengal Clipper a lot.

Bloss, your colours sound lovely. Are you alll set for bella Roma?

Marsha, thanks but after we had trecked across the city, DH told me that he wanted to stay in SW especially as we have school all sorted for DD. He thinks I am having a pre-baby nesting crisis. I liked the area but we'll shelve moving for now.

Fritzi, what did you wear? Hope you had a great night.

We got a babysitter and went out to dinner last night, wore a DVF red wrap dress (not maternity so felt normal :)).

MrsCB, good find on the bags. DH said the Gracie bag is something like his granny carried but I ignored him!

Vin, it is great you got the offer.

I had a spray tan years ago and turned out quite orange. DH still laughs about it.

carciofi · 17/04/2011 09:37

OWW my friend owns a beauty salon and she rates Xen Tan.

carciofi · 17/04/2011 09:39

Nan, that is really cute about your DD and Everyspring, glad you are having fun on your bike!

FritziGreenEyes · 17/04/2011 10:50

ollie and everyspring I love my bike too but you don't get far here without huffing and puffing up steep hills so I don't cycle as much as I would like to.

carciofi I wore taupe sequin dress with silver ballet flats and leather jacket. I bet you looked gorgeous in your DVF last night!

I am recovering from party last night. Left at 1:30 and definitely had too much to drink. When I left I couldn't open the garden gate at my friend's house and climbed over a low wall in my party dress. I think I might also have invited random people to my 40th in autumn but cannot remember Hmm

vin Well done, what are you going to do?

ollie Have you tried some Johnson's gradual tan lotion? I think they even do a version for light skin.

Fleecy · 17/04/2011 10:59

oww I use Xen Tan on my face as I find it idiot-proof and if I find a smudge seem to be able to blend it in easily. Nice golden colour, not orange. But I didn't get on with Xen Tan on my legs because it always started to streak the next day. Not sure what I was doing wrong!

Friend of mine swears by Fake Bake and uses it once a week but I find the whole brown rubbing off on the sheets thing quite offputting!

I use Dove gradual tan and think that or Johnsons would be fine to get legs from white to lightly glowing.

SLept in too late for church this morning! Now about to go to lunch with friends - wearing a navy fine wool vest with silver stripes, grey boyfriend cardi, ankle crop jeans and silver ballet flats. Can't do silver by my face but with all the navy it looks fine (I think!). Very typical 'Mum' outfit though Grin

moragbellingham · 17/04/2011 11:09

Thanks for the WC sizing advice - I ordered a M as they didn't have S in stockSad. Maybe if I return it they'll have one in store.

Vin - Congrats! I am both Envy and Smile.
With the current trend in NHS cutbacks, is there a possibility that your place could be withdrawn say in 6 months if you defer? Nothing is guaranteed in the NHS!

blossoming · 17/04/2011 14:08

Ugh, my mil is here. For the day. I'm hiding upstairs. We're off to put flowers on the grave this afternoon and I'm being very childish about not wanting her to come with us.

fritzi, bet you're glad you dressed up!

carciofi, I'm not ready at all. But it is all on paper!

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 17/04/2011 14:19

bloss You are not childish and I can understand that you'd rather go without her. Hope you get through the afternoon and find the time to indulge in some shredding tonight Smile.

fleecy Love your lunch outfit! Navy and silver is one of my favourite combinations.

Just had a two-hour nap with DD, bliss! I think she hasn't had a nap in the last two years. Our friends are arriving soon and we are going to have some ice-cream with raspberries, yum!

notyummy · 17/04/2011 19:58

Cngrats Vin.

Love the outfit Fleecy.

Fritzi- sounds like a good night. We managed 6 bottles of wine between 4 of us on Friday,(plus beer etc) so I will join you in the lush club!!

Bloss- hope MIL is now gone!

I looked in Jigsaw today for the sequined WIT top, as reminded by Fritzi. Top is nice- but quite scratchy. Also, there were already a few snags on all rhe ones I looked at (and tried on) and a top that retails at more than £100 shouldn't have so many draw backs frankly. Thanks for the rhought though Fritzi- I will save the vouchers for the moment.

Weather perfect here and lovely family break being had. DD watched the sun go down whilst having her dinner. Stunning.

TheAllNewOoooh · 17/04/2011 20:29

fleecy I was wearing something pretty similar today! I don't think of it as Mum uniform though, I think I would have worn the same in my 20s (in one of my more tasteful moments Wink).

My outfit lacked the silver ballet flats (mine were camel). I could do with some in silver though; it's such a classic combo with navy.

Would it be ridiculous to buy new ballets flats in silver and red? I already have gold (bloss's NAP sale recommendation?) and sparkly black... Oh and leopardprint (although they have a little wedge heel so don't count Wink). Overkill?

V jealous of your boutique hotel NY. Sounds lovely.

Fritzi is your dress a Malene Birger number? If so I have loved it from afar for quite some time. You sound beautifully put together. Smile

Saw someone in olive Earharts or something similar plus glads and immediately coveted the look. But we are seriously TTCing now, with a monitor n'all, and I wonder if I should be wary of anything with a waistband. But it could take ages or not happen at all. What to do.

That said my only purchase is some mushroom shorts from Warehouse and they definitely wouldn't go round a pregnant timmy.

blossoming · 17/04/2011 20:48

I thought this day would never end. Just as she was making leaving noises dh goes and offers her a cup of tea. I'd only made her a sandwich half an hour earlier and she'd refused tea. After she'd gone I had a lie down in a darkened room, and now I've shredded. Feel slightly better. The amount I ate at lunch time, I should maybe have done a double!

Tomorrow is serious packing and Italian revision! It's easier to go in the summer, I know exactly what weather to expect then!
Oh and I have a pair of dh's shorts in my wardrobe awaiting a button, since we came home last August. So not in the mood for that!

Fritzi, your outfit sounds lovely (and so does yours, Fleecy). I was looking at electric bikes with my dad, it is hilly where he lives so he is thinking of buying one.

Ants, sounds like you need a silver pair of flats for your collection. I like the Earharts too, also red J Brands but not going to buy until I see the state of myself in June!

NY, have a great time.

Annie, nice dress and good luck with the project.

Bloss, glad you survived the visit.

DH just told me that J Crew are opening an online store in the UK. NAP's selection is pretty paltry. Woohoo!

Wideawake, good that your friend's c section went well. I am not having one as the placenta previa is resolved.

I have this Mitzy messenger. Is this Anya tote too similar?

ApuskiDusky · 18/04/2011 09:37

V quick posting here for now, hope everyone is enjoying the weather!

MrsCB, really glad you're finally in - just think of all the things you can do that you couldn't change in your rental!

Vin, many congratulations on the medicine offer, amazing!

Carciofi - glad that the pprevia has sorted itself out, a big relief.

Bloss - I've just bought a tent! For UK weekend only camping. (I used to be a guide leader many moons ago, so enter into a parallel style-free universe for camping purposes). The idea of euro camping has a lot of appeal, but I'm afraid of the long drive with the ds's.

And I've bought 30 day shred! I need to get a bit fitter. I'm on day three now, but I stopped early yesterday after DS1 managed to get hold of one of my weights and nearly dropped it off the sofa onto my head whilst I was doing the abs section - I got a serious fright! Better do it when he's in bed.

And I have bought nothing clothes-wise for ages - my ebay sales funds are sitting... waiting...

carciofi · 18/04/2011 09:50

Gosh, Apuski, that's scary, were you hurt?

My brother sent DD a pop-up tent, she has been sitting in it all morning playing while I browse in peace. I owe him one!

My-Wardrobe sent me a discount code for £50 off a £250 spend. Very very tempted by the AH Maeve tote. It goes with my new stroller (trying to justify it Wink).

Meant to say, Ants, good luck with ttc.

blossoming · 18/04/2011 12:41

Morning all!
Yup, still in denial and the house is like a bomb site. DS walking round with a clipboard ticking off all his must-have holiday items and putting them on his bed. He just came to tell me that the bed was too small. Well he's not having any room in my suitcase Wink.
carciofi, your link re JCrew had a link to holiday packing on the same page. Very useful, thank you! I prefer your Mulberry to the Anya by the way.
Lovely and sunny here today. I have decided that I will pack a bikini after all. It'll probably be too cold to wear it anyway.
apuski, you're very disciplined that you haven't spent anything yet. Good luck with the shredding. I do it at around 7pm when no-one's around. DH is used to me by now. It's been almost 11 months. He even tells people who phone up that I'm not available!
Glad you're having some peace with the pop up tent carciofi. They're great aren't they.

Have no idea what to pack as toys for dd. Will be back later, probably having a nervous breakdown!

A perfect nod to the seventies without being over the top ...

blossoming · 18/04/2011 14:42

Remember that electric blue Isabella Oliver dress ollie recommended for me AGES ago, well there's 30% off. So I've ordered to cheer me up for the dreaded in law Christening in a fortnight's time. Shame I've sold my silver shoes Wink.

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 18/04/2011 15:39

bloss That IO dress is perfect for you! Hope you get all the packing done without major crisis!

apuski DD always wanted to join in when I shredded and started to sulk because she didn't have any weights. Whenever I shred now she watches Charlie and Lola downstairs. Suits us both better I think Smile. What are you planning on spending your ebay fund on?

carciofi A yes from me to buy bag to match your new pram Wink.

annie Good luck with your project!

everyspring I always end up in an eccentric Mum outfit because I am not dressed warm enough Grin.

ohh Ballet flats are always a wise investment. Will be really good to wear during pregnancy too!

notyummy That is disappointing about the Jigsaw top. Scratchy fabrics are a nightmare! Enjoy your break and wear lots of lovely outfits!

I am thinking about arranging a weekend break in May. DH has finished his big, important deal and it hit me this morning how exhausted and ill he looks Sad. Any ideas for stylish hotel in sunny climate?

FritziGreenEyes · 18/04/2011 15:43

Oh, I forgot to add: Lots of Melissa Odabash swimwear and HH on The Outnet!

I ordered this stripey bikini and this zebra print. Better get the Shred DVD out!
