Happy Anniversary exhausted - it is ours tomorrow; 3 years. DH feels the same way about watches as I do about impractical dresses, so have just bought him a Skagen watch from our local jewellers. Is a bit of an extravagance for an anniversary, but it's his birthday next week too so this can cover both bases.

Bloss, know the feeling - DH refuses to spend money on his clothing and somme of his stuff is just awful. I have taken to buying it for him which he hates and gets annoyed about, but will begrudgingly try on and inevitably ends up wearing and enjoying.

Took DS for new shoes at the same time - he is a great little shopper; sitting beautifully for the assistant, but then being very firm about his shoe choice; 'I like the blue ones, but the red ones are so pretty, Mummy'. Love it.

I very much hope to Reine, we're moving in August, so maybe a Summer meet should be squeezed in before then!

blossoming · 04/04/2011 13:14

After looking ridiculous yesterday in my way too large for me stadium squall (and it didn't rain after about half an hour!). I have just had to purchase this long waterproof in purple.
The sound of the rain here today is deafening.
The practicalities of country living. Such glamour.

OP posts:
carciofi · 04/04/2011 13:35

Reine, my dh has done that too. He now changes her hairclip to match her outfit though!

Bloss, I like that raincoat. The buyer hasn't paid yet but it has only been a day or two.

Red, I like your DS's style!

Annie I like both those dresses. They have such cute baby stuff too.

This navy White Co cardigan just arrived, not terribly exciting so trying to decide whether to keep but might be good with jeans for hanging around.

NY, I bought manuka honey and have just been reading that it can help with reflux too so thank you for the tip.

OllieWollieWoo · 04/04/2011 13:37

I'm drowning in a sea of scones!

Blossoming - my DH sounds the same as yours - example of a typical conversation when out shopping:

Me: thats a nice jumper, would really suit you.

DH: I've already got a jumper.

Me: You are allowed to own more than one.

DH: Why would I?
Gah!
I like those types of jumpers for DH too. Got a nice purple one from Joules last year with a matching gingham shirt.
Anniemac I tried the blue and white version of that People Tree dress on - was very nice and quite flattering. I was also thinking about getting that Soap & Glory wish upon a jar stuff after reading that thread.
Fritzi hope you have had a lovely day off.
Redlamayellowlama - I loved that light you linked too. Comes in such lovley colours. Always a good idea to buy these things when you see them - it took us 3 years to find lights for our hallway!

Gotta run - time to get on my bike for the school run! Back later.

FritziGreenEyes · 04/04/2011 15:06

Bought this trench today and some other stuff. Will do links later as DD is hungry (again).

roary · 04/04/2011 15:16

Carciofi I am doubly horrified but not entirely surprised to hear that name thief/clothes thief are the same - sounds like a bad lot!

Bloss that looks a very sensible raincoat but I did love Carciofi's trench from LK Bennett, esp in red.

My DH dressed DD on Monday last week: one of DS's red t-shirts with a whale applique (12-18 mos) a skimpy pink sundress and socks. (!!!!!!!!).

ALso he cannot understand why he needs clothes AT ALL as he has them. And reliably informs me that you can buy pyjamas for £10.

carciofi · 04/04/2011 15:28

Roary, I am starting to think so too. Wink

Nice trench, Fritzi.

Decided to return the cardigan, £40 is a good start towards the LK Bennett jacket.

My DH only replaces his clothes when they fall apart and tells me I should be glad as we would be in the poor house if he shared my interest in clothes. True, true.

roary · 04/04/2011 15:30

Trenchcoat von Hallhuber sounds like a great spy name, Fritzi.

love from Roary von Procrastinator

(back to work)

FritziGreenEyes · 04/04/2011 15:42

roary It's a high street chain with a very odd name I have to admit but they do good basics. I also bought a pair of white skinny jeans there. And a flowery cotton shirt from Zara which I can't find online. I also liked this blazer in the stone colour a lot but like bloss have other things on my summer wishlist so I didn't buy.

In preparation for shorts and skirts I also bought some REN bodyscrub and anti-cellulite cream from the pharmacy.

FritziGreenEyes · 04/04/2011 15:47

anniemac I love those People Tree dresses!

Oh, and I found this nailpolish.

notyummy · 04/04/2011 16:55

Have just done level 1 and half of level 2 of 6W6P! Found my previous pilates stuff probably helped. It needs quite a bit of coordination - more so than shred. Would you agree Bloss?

Office has a sale on at the moment and I have eyeing up cheap cloggy shoes....but I think I still prefer the ones I have seen in either Zara, TS or Hobbs. If only Jigsaw had some nice ones, I could spend my vouchers. Gah!!

blossoming · 04/04/2011 17:33

Yes, definitely notyummy in the mat work on level 1. I am not the most co-ordinated. I may brave level 2 again later. I have warned dh I'll be shredding 5.45 am tomorrow and Wednesday as I've things on in the evening. Did you like 6w6p?

OP posts:
notyummy · 04/04/2011 18:28

Yes, I did like it - think I will like it more when I have 'learned' the moves as some of them (particularly on L2) seemed slightly complicated so I spent some time on this session watching and wobbling! I didn't 'feel the burn' in any particular part of my body like I do with some of the shred moves BUT I was v sweaty and red faced after 40 mins of level 1 and half of 2, so it was DEF having an effect!

notyummy · 04/04/2011 18:52

Here's a question for you all:

Is 5 pairs of shoes (inc trainers for running) too many for a 3 night break away?? I fear DH is going to say a very emphatic YES. We only have one 20kg bag between us.... I will obviously wear one pair and smuggle another in my hand luggage (flip flop style sandals!) Then it may only look like I am taking 3 inc trainers....

blossoming · 04/04/2011 19:00

notyummy, that's my problem with level 2, that apart from one excerise, one from the end, I don't feel the burn, but I do with level 1.

Like your thinking re shoes!

OP posts:
Emo76 · 04/04/2011 19:15

notyummy I am not sure 5 is enough....!

TheAllNewOoooh · 04/04/2011 19:34

I really have to get DS in bed but I have soooo been shopping today and have my mojo back. Will be back to twirl later.

Zembo · 04/04/2011 19:34

5 pairs very reasonable NY!

Had my first day back at work and feel totally wiped out, have taken tomorrow as leave to ease my way back into it!

Vin how did your interview go?

Lovely trench fritzi

FritziGreenEyes · 04/04/2011 20:01

notyummy I admire your strategic approach to shoe packing Smile.

ohhh Looking forward to your virtual twirling!

zembo Was thinking of you today. Hope you'll get some rest tomorrow and will ease back into work soon.

PORTIA4 · 04/04/2011 20:10

Evening Ladies Smile, Got back from France this afternoon, DD2 had a very challenging interview, but did get offered a place in the school for next year.
We all went shopping on Saturday, which was great, with DD1 and DD2 getting lots of tops and jeans etc, I bought this which I think was very wise! and will be useful during the summer and a couple of pairs of pumps.
It was definitely hippy chic in all the shop windows with lots of suede, linen and clog style sandals. The weather was unbelievable on Saturday, really balmy, which was such a bonus! Back to reality tomorrowSad.
Bloss afriend of mine bought that coat and got great wear out of it last winter.
Fritzi love your trench!
My DH sounds similar to everyone elses when it comes to shopping - maybe we should start a thread on what we would buy for them, if they would let usGrin

Oh well done mini-Portia2!

zembo well done on taking it moderately easy

fritzi you have inspired me to do a spot of summer shopping this evening!

In other news....I am entering the London triathlon as part of a relay team in end July with work colleagues. I needed a goal to train for, I can barely run for the bus at present. This requires some new snazzy running kit....

Am watching the appalling Kerry Katona show at present, wondering how long can they keep her career revival going for?!

blossoming · 04/04/2011 21:38

Glad you had a good time in France portia, and well done to your dd! That's nice to hear a favourable review for 'long waterproof coat' which is what I googled!

I'm sure you must have looked at Sweaty Betty emo. I love their stuff. Good luck with it!

exhausted, I'm with you on Cos, and I haven't even been in!

I am glad you got your trench fritzi. It looks a good one too. Sounds like a great afternoon shopping.

Glad today was okay zembo. I hope you get plenty of rest tomorrow.

OP posts:
roary · 04/04/2011 21:58

Meant to say Fritzi I think it is a lovely trench! Just that if I were a comic book spy might have to seriously consider calling myself Trenchcoat von H. This is what comes of too much time doing a bit of boring work and procrastinating while doing it!

Zembo v glad you are taking it easy - expect to find it tiring!

Clever Portia DD.

Exhausted wouldn't a rubber dress be ever so practical on the wards? You could just wipe it down... Grin
