argh argh has been done to death I know but what do you wear on your feet with jeans when it's too sunny for boots and too cold for summer shoes?

It's hard to say without seeing your style (they won't work if your look is 'rock chick', for example) but have you thought of soft suede loafers with rubber nodule soles (the kind called 'car shoes')?

Tod's do the best but they are pricey (£225 or so, and can't be re-heeled). However you can buy cheaper versions if you look hard, and they are super comfortable without being as casual as trainers.

Worn with a pair of boyfriend jeans or cotton drills rolled up at the ankle and some cashmere they are very euro-mummy chic. Also ludicrously comfortable.

I'm currently doing chelsea boots (ankle boots with an elastic insert), skinny jeans tucked in. Kate Moss is my idol, what can I say.

Style? I ain't got any style. Grin

Have got out my ballet pumps today and have been scrutinising the feet of every woman I meet.

I'd forgotten about those Tod-style loafers, TB - in fact, they're having a bit of a surge atm aren't they? I know DD wanted some from NL but they didn't fit - they're definitely available on a high street near you!

Not quite Tod's but maybe an alternative to ballet shoes if you want more of a preppy look?

withagoat · 25/03/2011 15:43

Still in boots here

Fimbo · 25/03/2011 15:48

The sell the Fly Yedi in Jones, John Lewis and Office.

Fimbo · 25/03/2011 15:48

oh and perhaps Schuh.

Fimbo · 25/03/2011 15:49

But hey you will not be needing any this weekend as it is back to arctic conditions apparently.

basana · 25/03/2011 15:49

Ash converse-style are much better than actual Converse for a bit of style - hightop or low - plenty of trendy 40 somethings in them round here.

Gingefringe · 25/03/2011 17:16

Sketcher ballet type pumps with strap across look nice IMO.

TracyK · 25/03/2011 17:18

Do you have a link Basana to the ash converse style ones???

Fimbo · 25/03/2011 17:21

\link{http://www.ash-footwear.co.uk/Collection-Autumn-Winter-2010-Sport.asp\Presumably this is them}. A bit too bling for my taste.

upahill · 25/03/2011 17:22

Blimey about the ash!! I'll stick to my no fuss converse!

DilysPrice · 25/03/2011 17:37

Brogues, moccasins, bowling shoes (I've got some rather nice plain black bowling-style shoes with white stitching from M&S on at the mo).

But actually, more often than not, Converse (43 years old).

I feel the need to start a thread about shoes to wear with skirts in the summer actually - much more difficult.
