argh argh has been done to death I know but what do you wear on your feet with jeans when it's too sunny for boots and too cold for summer shoes?

i've just bought these, i am aiming for riviera chic wearing them with jeans and a navy/white stripe t shirt...

uk.tommy.com/Mia/FW8SA01746,en_GB,pd.html&cgid=112025#!i%3D4%26color%3D600_RED

they are blinkin' lovely... so much so that i may be forced to buy them in another colour too...

withagoat · 24/03/2011 18:18

its really not that warm yet

Callisto · 24/03/2011 18:26

I've been wearing last years Animal flip flops for the last few days with dark purple nail polish on very white feet. Not a good look but bliss in this weather and I haven't had to go anywhere so only DH and DD have had to put up with it.

I also vote for Connies - I adore them, they are ageless and as I have been wearing them for at least 20 years, I think they are exempt from the 'boring' tag. I've got some turquiose ones and some navy ones atm.

Callisto · 24/03/2011 18:27

Sorry, turquoise.

Dumbledoresgirl · 24/03/2011 18:29

What are converse?

[old gimmer]

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 24/03/2011 18:29

Definitiely NOT "care in the community" crocs. Personally with me, its boots or sandals. Loathe most shoes, esp Mary Janes and anything out of Clarks.

FertilityFairy · 24/03/2011 18:34

Yedi from Fly - lots of colour combo's available

WhatsWrongWithYou · 24/03/2011 18:50

Converse for the OG Smile.

Can't wear them myself - I look terrible in any trainer/sneaker style foot coverage.

bellavita · 24/03/2011 19:02

Converse! I am 46 in August.

Panzee · 24/03/2011 19:03

Boots, even in summer. I really hate sandals!

LindaLaPlumeDeMaTente · 24/03/2011 19:05

I wore biker boots today with leggings, etc etc

Met my mate at school who had blousy white cotton top, boyfriend jeans and flip flops on. She looked like she's just strolled off the beach , I looked like a member of Hitler Youth.

AND I was boiling

mrsravelstein · 24/03/2011 19:27

i love those Yedi shoes but dh actually threatened to divorce me if i bought them when i tried them on (luckily for both of us, they were too small in one size and too big in the next one up..., so we will never know)

OhCobblers · 24/03/2011 20:10

sorry to hijack OP , but all you converse lovers, any clues as to how to get the white rubber (on the leather ones) clean??
mine are filthy and don't know where to start Smile
TIA

noddyholder · 24/03/2011 20:12

Those are divorce worthy tbf

verytellytubby · 24/03/2011 20:32

Converse.

I look awful in ballet shoes.

BelligerentGhoul · 24/03/2011 20:33

I'd divorce MYSELF if I had those Yedi things tbh - they are vile! :)

ThingOne · 24/03/2011 20:45

Birks. It was their first week of the season this week. But not yet in the morning.

ShortArseFuck · 24/03/2011 20:48

Sorry to hijack the thread but am looking at conversey type things.

What colour?

Mostly to wear with jeans but also floaty skirts.

And I'm 41 and short and stumpy so don't want the baseball ones

Am I only one who hates converse trainers. Nothing to do with age.

kylesmybaby · 24/03/2011 21:08

i am having exact same problem in the mornings. however, i still want to wear my jegging type thingys so stuck with boots atm.

going to hunt in my wardbrobe for last years converse now.

BeattieBow · 24/03/2011 22:17

I've worn ballet pumps for the last couple of days. not too cold imo.

also have some beigey ankle boots from office, but not sure about them... these here

BelligerentGhoul · 24/03/2011 22:52

I don't think Converse things with skirts are ever going to be a good look tbh - unless they are just white ked-type things and you are a willowy, wafty size 6 in an American Ivy League setting. :)

On most people they just make their legs look stumpy.

BalloonSlayer · 25/03/2011 06:48

I liked those Yedi things. What shops to they sell them in? I am not buying shoes online [ martyr to me feet emoticon ]

Genuinely Shock at the £80 espadrilles! They're made of fannying rope FGS!

I didn't mean to offend anyone by implying I was too old to wear converse. I haven't worn "baseball boots" as they used to be called Grin since I was 12 and I don't see anyone round our neck of the woods wearing them, so I was worried I'd be making a fashion blunder.
