argh argh has been done to death I know but what do you wear on your feet with jeans when it's too sunny for boots and too cold for summer shoes?

And don't say converse - I am 46.

another boots or sandals one here
I wear ankle boots until it's warm enough for sandals

WhatsWrongWithYou · 23/03/2011 22:41

I'm contemplating dusting off my ballet shoes - but what do you wear with them when your feet are too white and veiny to expose in this still-slightly-chilly weather? Socks are obviously out, but knee-high stockings are a bit naff aren't they?

Themumsnot · 23/03/2011 23:23

I am 47 and my laceless converse are practically welded to my feet when its too hot for boots.
But I did buy www.charlesclinkard.co.uk/womens-c1/shoes-c2/clarks-hallo-star-fashion-casual-p7069?utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=ppc&utm_term=95307&utm_campaign=froogle#95307these today.

KristinaM · 24/03/2011 02:34

Clogs. With a sling back to keep them on. And wooly socks till it's warm

Have one pair of pewter converse which I rarely wear as I don't find them very comfortable

Probably because I haven't worn flats since 1978Blush

IngridBergmann · 24/03/2011 06:14

Shoes can be hard to get right.

Currently I'm wearing work-type short boots (think builder boots but a bit less blokey) Fly Ota is the style if you want to google. But thats because I'm doing up my kitchen. they are good with skinny jeans though.

With skirts (shortish) I'm wearing ballet pumps and tights. Also have a pair of brogue shoes which are Ok, have seen nicer pairs though.

Or fly shoes - yedi is the ones I have, also great with tights and a bit of height without falling over.

withagoat · 24/03/2011 06:16

Your wedge dessert boots !

withagoat · 24/03/2011 06:18

Lol at converse. Boring

IngridBergmann · 24/03/2011 06:27

Ota but I have in grey/taupe/beigey colour

Yedi but have got in old colour, brown/white band.

Can't find tights on M&S website but they'll be there somewhere...in the shop they just look grey-blue. Could come under carbon I guess.

MarioandLuigi · 24/03/2011 06:36

At the moment I am wearing my purple Fly Seven's to death. I love them.

cyb · 24/03/2011 07:18

wedge shoe boots with trainers socks tucked in so the black bits don't show ,and the bits that DO show fake tanned

but will soon be wearing my leopard ballets if I can cram my bunions in

BlooferLady · 24/03/2011 07:24

AT LEAST YOU CAN WEAR JEANS

Please don't wear crocs. I like brogues if the jeans are skinny/straight legged? Also I don't think 46 is too old for Cons, unless you look a great deal older...

piratecat · 24/03/2011 07:26

adidas superstars

my year goes.

winter-boots
spring-trainers
summer-Birkenstock relax in silver
autumn-trainers

etc...

can't do flat flip flops, due to plantar faciitis ( pain in foot) or converse, or anything totally flat.

don't do heels. have to have arch supprt.

but it's a cheap way to live!

Lulumama · 24/03/2011 07:28

another vote for converse

I have pink, red, blue, khaki, silver and white.

sooooo comfy and last forever.

piratecat · 24/03/2011 07:37

the sun is shining but i am still in my boot tho, the air is chilly here in devon today.

i love converse lulu, but i can't get my special insoles in them as they are so lowrise iyswim. i'd like some purple or navy ones.

cyb · 24/03/2011 07:37

Ah, yes forgot my brogues

hazeyjane · 24/03/2011 07:39

birkenstocks and socks?

2madboys · 24/03/2011 08:09

Flat red Mary Janes from Clarks today.

Verso · 24/03/2011 08:26

Lol @ 'gets coat'

Am trying to work out whether it's possible to do the high-sandals-and-socks combo tht seems to be everywhere. Have bought some scarlet and some grey lurex (!) socks to make sure it looks delberate. Go on, laugh if you dare!!

(Well, seems an eminently practical 'mode' to one raised in the seventies on Jesus sandals and grey woolly socks Grin.)

Have always resisted Converse as being a bit too boring, but am now wondering...

Verso · 24/03/2011 08:27

Btw i ackshually wear ballet flats, clogs or ankle boots, so not as avant garde as i like to think i am!!

BalloonSlayer · 24/03/2011 16:00

What are Mary Janes, 2madboys ?

OP posts:
greedygoose · 24/03/2011 16:50

Any nice clog recommendations, I quite fancy....

MmeLindt · 24/03/2011 16:54

Converse or leather loafers.

How can you go from boots to sandals? What about spring?

BelligerentGhoul · 24/03/2011 18:02

Converse type things okay with straight jeans but not with skinny jeans as they look awful imho.

I wore skinnies with red ballet flats at the weekend, which I think worked just about okay.

noddyholder · 24/03/2011 18:05

Converse here! Still wearing boots though as its not that warm. Bought a pair of fake leopard birkinstocks this morning and put them on indoors and have blue feet! Also wear trainers

bettybattleaxe · 24/03/2011 18:14

clarks originals
