Hello stylish and beautiful people,
I need some help. I have been living in brown leather knee hight boots all winter but now I really NEED some shoes for spring. I cannot wear heels during the day & whilst I love shoes like ballet pumps I can no longer wear such flat styles due to a pelvic problem - they really cripple me.

What I need is a pair of shoes similar to ballet pumps but with a heel more like what you would find on flat winter boots iykwim? Or a small wedge perhaps?

I want them to wear with my new gap dark indigo denim skirt with opaques until the weather gets nicer. I also want to wear them with flared Gap jeans and skinnies....it's a tall order I know but someone must have seen something out there?

I like navy, brown, plum etc any colour I can wear opaques with but preferably not black. I quite like emellishment, such as jewels as in the Boden flats (like them but they are just too flat......

Thanks everyone!!

Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions everyone, loads for me to look through there & I look forward to browsing with a glass of wine later.

Meanwhile I had another look myself and thought these brogues might look nice with opaques and denim skirt but ought to work with wide legged jeans too?

And then I saw these wedge boots which I think could work with tights and skirt or jeans, either skinnies or flares?

What do you think? Am I just clutching at straws or are either of them 'workable'?

Thanks!

Both your links go to the boots... How about:

These?

These?

These?

MilliONaire · 08/02/2011 20:55

oops don't know why they both ended up as the boots. I'll try again: red or dead brogues

Hmm, I'm not keen... what about these?

The red or dead brogues are a bit too manly ifyswim. I tried them on in the shop and felt like a heffer. And they're hard.

Glad that a few are loving the Alegria shoes... I can't sing their praises enough (and I got them cheap in a sale in Glasgow!3 different styles Woo!)

If you fancy a brogue though I think these are much prettier and will not look odd with trousers, peg legged or wide legged and would be cute with a skirt too!

Also, if you're a bit fashion forward and like a fun shoe

creepers

Comfy comfy crepe soles, and can make any outfit look a bit edgier by being a bit incongruous.

Thanks so much for all the feedback!

bethelbeth, I went to try on the red or dead ones this morning and I totally agree with you, they are very masculine and VERY hard. I have narrow feet and slim ankles and they were very 'gape-y' looking too.

Then I found these, tried them on, fell in love and have them on me right now! They are pretty much what I have been searshing for & they really suit my narrow foot and my need for shoes not to be totally flat. I had skinnies with boots on when I went to try them on & they look surprisingly nice with the jeans and & perfect for my denim skirt with opaques.

I think they will see me through till summer and then the search begins all over again for summer shoes (though I did see that they had them in beautiful cream suede Grin

Thanks Bethalbeth - I'm now also keeping a look out for those Alegria shoes.

MrsSeanBean Get them! Wore mine for the first time today, straight out of the box. Very comfy all day, loads of compliments!

Carvela shoes are fab, they are always roomy, but not too roomy and very comfortable but on trend. Good find!

I like the Clarks Yara desert boots.
