Glad to know that I'm not the only one with no NYE plans. I'm catered/socialised out and would only venture out if I was sure it was going to be a very comfortable party... and we are unlikely to get that kind of invitation so late in the day. We have been invited to the neighbours' party, but I somehow think the invitation was more of an excuse for them making a very loud noise...

The good news is that I ate very little over Christmas - my various viruses killed my appetite. The bad news is that my appetite has now returned with a vengeance - we went out to dinner to our local (very good) Chinese restaurant last night and I seriously pigged out on dim sum, Schechuan chicken and had two servings of sticky rice Blush.

The French sales don't start for another two weeks, though there are plenty of pre-sales - in fact, an invitation to a pre-sale is almost indispensable if you want to find anything half decent. But I am a bit clothes shopped out right now (though that might not last long). My main priority is getting my home back in order!

Bonsoir · 29/12/2010 08:40

What are all your W&A S&B NY resolutions? I can't think of any, except "Have more sex" Blush. I told that to DP about a month ago and he was very enthusiastic and has since gone and found himself a personal trainer... What should I be doing to make sure I keep up?

LetThemEatCake · 29/12/2010 08:49

Bonsoir you know full well that someone will be along in a minute brandishing a Shred DVD!!

donkey not sure about at-home personal shoppers, sorry. Hope you find someone good!

OllieWollieWoo · 29/12/2010 08:52

Really miffed - the Warehouse Cuff dress via ASOS is now not in stock - had one of those annoying emails saying order had been cancelled. Sort of thought that may be the case but grrrrr - and now of course I want it even more. Can only only find a blue one on ebay and I really wanted the grey. !
Have a couple of hours shopping this afternoon so hoping something else jumps out at me which will be suitable for DH's work do.

RE meet up - I hope to be there and almost certainly will but DH will be in Paris til the 18th March on a course so will have to work around that which is irritating as I normally come over on the Thursday overnight ferry to make a long weekend of my time away.

LetThemEatCake · 29/12/2010 08:55

sorry last one from me

esher I bought this in grey for my sister for Xmas and it looks very good - worth a try for you? She is almost as tall as me so it is quite short but would be more modest on you - photo on my FB if you want to see

secondly who thinks I should get this

traceybath · 29/12/2010 09:39

Oh my - who else cried at upstairs/downstairs - think Choo watched it and Bonsoir - I should imagine its right up your street too Smile

I love the ballet and can't wait to take dc's to it - well probably dd as ds1 isn't interested - too girlish apparently Hmm

I have just eaten a piece of lemon tart for breakfast - stop me some-one.

LOL at Plum with her slumming at my-wardrobe. And LTEC - I really hoped you had bought one of those gorgeous chloe dresses you tried on ages ago. Those jeans look fab too.

Quiet day here today of chores and urging ds1 to do some of his homework - so thats going to be fun Hmm

CHOOGIRL · 29/12/2010 09:40

Morning. roma Dubai Mall blew my mind there were so many shops I didn't know where to begin. If you are in AD today have a look at the amazing Yas Marina Hotel. It's where they have Grand Prix and I can't wait to go back in November.
cake love the jumper so buy buy buy.
Am off to hairdressers later. It's near Selfros so I may pop in. Were the crowds as bad as they sounded on the news?

CHOOGIRL · 29/12/2010 09:48

tracey I loved upstairs downstairs. The theme tune transported me back to my childhood. I hope they make another series. I didn't catch Downton Abbey it's going to be repeated this weekend.

Cleaner just arrived so no chores for me today.

traceybath · 29/12/2010 09:51

LTEC - I adore that Marant top.

blossoming · 29/12/2010 09:52

bonsoir, ltec has beaten me to it! I don't know if you were around when I went on about casually mentioned how much my 'love' life had improved since shredding! Also, 6 week 6 pack is on it's way!!
As for resolutions: keep off the sugar; keep shredding; avoid sausage rolls (grr!), and maintain my 'love' life!

donkey, we could help you out virtually!

The best thing I did this year was get my colours done. That could be a good start for you. Cost £95 with House of Colour. Then get rid of everything in the wrong colour. Take photos of yourself in what's left and work out what's flattering. What shape are you? We have all shapes on this thread!

Bonsoir · 29/12/2010 09:53

tracey - I shall have to get Upstairs Downstairs on DVD in due course! Thanks for the recommendation!

I'm trying to be ultra efficient today and to get my home to rights after Christmas - I've got two cleaners in from the cleaning company working simultaneously (at least one of whom is a lot better than last week's clueless-about-fitted-sheets one), I've just had a bath and am busy eyelash-dying and epilating while DD has her bath. A very kind mother has invited DD over for a playdate all afternoon, so DP is going to take the afternoon off work so we can have some time together alone. He was feeling very crowded out by my family's invasion over the weekend and needs careful handling, overdoses of attention and TLC.

blossoming · 29/12/2010 10:00

Sounds like your NY resolution could start early bonsoir Wink

Bonsoir · 29/12/2010 10:06

Yes Wink, though DP is having lunch with his father and will get treated like a naughty 12 year old - a passion-killer if ever there was one Sad

Not sure I feel brave enough to Shred... the results sound fabulous, but oh the energy needed...

blossoming · 29/12/2010 10:30

20 mins bonsoir, plus 6 for warm up, cool down.
There are too many dynamics involved in family gatherings at Christmas. The way my mil still treats dh is a passion killer here too.

Blossoming - thanks so much. Might try with my colours. I am an hourglass - just hovering above a size 12 after three children!! I keep saying that I'll start buying nice things when I lose some more weight.

I generally get clothes from French Connection, Whistles, Reiss etc but am lucky enough to have budget for more expensive, I just don't want to make expensive mistakes!! I have an impressive collection of shoes and handbags - just no idea what to wear in between them!!

I am happy with evening stuff (love Whistles dresses and have bought 2 Anglomania this year which are fab) - I just struggle with daytime (SAHM). No clue what trouser shape, top, etc - I have been wearing my white Company Jersey dresses a fair bit but would like to be a bit more 'on trend'.

I have posted a few times in the past (as LittleDawley) and LOVE reading this thread!!

LTEC Blush I know it seems like I have bought everything in the NAP sale but I haven?t honest! Though I have got that sparkly jumper and it feels very Christmassy (which I suppose is a good and bad thing)! Thanks for the jeans link ? they look amazing. Is the body shrinkage so good they are worth the £££?

NY ? how fabulous! What fun ahead.

Tracey ? I?m playing catch up on upstairs downstairs (one day behind) and I?ve still got Downton Abbey taped so I can do a bumper session when DH next goes away.

DD still avoiding the vomiting and DS has made a speedy recovery. I am just trying to get the energy to do more clearing up. We have so much junk here after Christmas and no space for it.

Ohh, I wouldn't call it knock out - only if you were unlucky enough to be hit by one of my rather large breasts!!

I am 34ff in a bra small-ish waist (but very wobbly these days) and wide hips. My legs are okay at the bottom but have big thighs. As I said, I'm happy in dresses - bought this in November and really did feel lovely in it. It's just the daywear thing - I'd love to do skinnies, flats and a breton t-shirt but it would look all wrong. I'd just like a nice, chic daytime 'uniform' that suits me. When you are busty, it's hard to dress down. All the rules say avoid high necked things but I really can't channel Joan Harris on the school run!!
