NY - I think Fleecy and DT are also coming.

And thank you for organising Smile

petitdonkey · 03/01/2011 19:47

cake - bag lust!! I agree with the waiting sentiments but also think it's a great colour and would go with everything.

looby another vote for the first one here, I do love that colour.

tracey - I am also on a mad declutter mission but think that I might have to leave the dreaded playroom until the DC go back to school/nursery so they can't see what I chuck!

I have been thinking that my favourite thing to wear in autum or spring is jeans, tshirt, blazer, bright scarf and heels. That doesn't work at the moment as I also need a coat - do you think that this would work as an alternative or can you suggest something else - kind of a cardie but with more structure?

notyummy · 03/01/2011 19:54

PT - this?? Or is that too long/baggy?

KILDARE4 · 03/01/2011 19:59

Hello all,we still have another week of school hols here, so all still quite chilled here.

LTEC I love that bag, but did see a similar one in the Mulberry outlet in Shepton Mallet a short while ago and it was seriously reduced (so much so that I asked one of my daughters if she wanted it!) so it might be worth a look if you're anywhere nearby.

Looby I really like dress no 2 and think that it would possibley be more versatile than no 1.

Still wearing NF after walk this morning and need to start thinking about work wardrode for tomorrow.Confused

petitdonkey · 03/01/2011 20:01

I think that the collar would be too much under a coat. I'm also liking the Whistles military button knit...

notyummy · 03/01/2011 20:10

OK ladies - help me out!
I think I like this.

Reduced from £325 to £125. Is it stupidly over the top - and would it look ridiculous on nearly 40 year old?? Also - what is Whistles sizing like these days? I seem to be a 10 in most places at the moment, but I would say I am not a 'small' 10.

Have no idea where I would wear it, actually. (Meet-up...?!)

BelligerentGhoul · 03/01/2011 20:12

Not sure about the dress tbh - too revealing and too bright for me (am 40) but I'm a dour Northern-lass!

Whistles sizing tends to be pretty big ime.

hellsbelles · 03/01/2011 20:18

NY - please add me.

mrsjuan · 03/01/2011 20:30

NY - whistles sizing comes up fairly generous.
I love the colour but can't help thinking that the zip hanging down at the back looks like something dangling from between the model's legs Blush

blossoming · 03/01/2011 20:36

notyummy, I love that dress and I think the colour would be good on you. You're setting the bar high for meet up though!
Thanks for agreeing to organize meet up. I'd be happy to help in any way. I like both hotels mentioned. Maybe choo could suggest venues?

traceybath · 03/01/2011 20:38

NY - not sure at all about that dress and its still pretty expensive. But I am not a fan of Roksanda or whistles.

Have got dc's involved in de-cluttering - it was like a relay team of passing stuff from room to room - the youngest two found it particularly hilarious for some reason Smile

I am getting very very nervous at ds2 starting in the nursery class at school on Friday - it'll be the first time he's really been away from me properly - hence I think my obsessive de-cluttering as a distraction technique.

Hells - we watched Zen and yes your DH does look like Rufus judging by your fb photos Smile I too found it rather slow and hated the music - kept thinking I'd gone back in time and was watching Bergerac Hmm

LetThemEatCake · 03/01/2011 20:40

all this talk of meet up has got me thinking of fact that our 'birthday' is 2 weeks today.

Who's up for all of us buying something of an A&W nature - nothing mahoosive, just something - on the day to celebrate??

hf128219 · 03/01/2011 20:42

I plan to come too. DH's work permitting. No need for accommodation.

NY Like the colour of the dress.

Must get back to Corrie Grin

pickledsiblings · 03/01/2011 20:48

NY I love the colour of that dress and the whole one shoulder thing but it is very unflattering on the model (a bit too nappy-like I think). I am sure I have seen similar but nicer elsewhere .

hellsbelles · 03/01/2011 20:51

LTEC I'll take any excuse for a spend Grin - I'm up for it.

NY - tbh it's not a dress I would pick (though that's probably a good thing) - I'm not just saying that because you left me off the list Wink

Brownie making was a disaster. I managed to undercook them. They tasted very nice though - if a little gooey. Practice again t/m...

I am officially fat today. PMT and general blurghhh....and too much brownie testing...and and...oh no exercise at all.

hellsbelles · 03/01/2011 20:53

Tracey - I shall pass that onto DH - he'll be thrilled to hear it's not all in his own mind Wink...though since Mr Sewell's hair is now very much shorter they are no longer quite so similar!

LetThemEatCake · 03/01/2011 20:57

NY it's a bit "toga party" but great colour.

really think that with your fabulous figure you should go form fitting, not drapey.

blossoming · 03/01/2011 20:58

I'm in cake!

blossoming · 03/01/2011 21:02

I'm thinking of a halter neck dress for this summer now I've got small boobs again. But will not purchase until May as last year's early s/s purchase were all sent back!

pickledsiblings · 03/01/2011 21:04

LTEC, this blouse would look fabulous on you.

Other things that I have been lusting over are this blouse in a delicate pink, this Mint Velvet jersy tunic and this one (I wish the back was the same as the front though) and a similarly coloured scarf.

In fact just give me the whole of the Mint Velvet catalogue Grin.

DTI10 · 03/01/2011 21:06

Hi all,

Playing catch up again after spending the day trying to tire out the DC's before returning to school/nursery/work tomorrow. We failed miserably. DS1 is still awake begging for another Mr Men story....

mrsj - so sorry to read about your family dog. Still think of our family pets we have had over the years Sad.

ny I would love to attend the meet-up in March. Thank you for organising.

choo - I purchased both pairs from the US (Nordstrom). Second pair going back tomorrow. I just don't think they are meant to be but wondering if I should re-order the larger pair and forget the "clodhopperish" DH comment.

The Belstaffs are brilliant. Thanks for asking fritzi. I have been wearing them most days over the Christmas holidays. They are wearing in nicely and although a little chunky I am really, really pleased to have finally got them and a pair which fit both feet!

esher and everything - could you invest in an intensive driving course?

everything - is your voice back? Have you tried honey, very soothing?

cake - love that bag. I have also spotted a bag and even though it is reduced I am telling myself to save up and also asking if I really need it and what will it go with. Still want it.

traceyb - sorry you are upset about the Archers. My sister has called in floods of tears - she is a massive fan.
ABO - I like your NYE dress. It was a great fit and colour on your very slim body.

hells - forgot to respond to you the other day. Yes, I know St John's Wood very well. I did not grow up there but a few schoolfriends moved from North London (Muswell Hill) to St John's and I used to visit quite a bit. The GD shop is still there, albeit the lady in there is a bit funny. I was in E.Sussex too on the weekend - Hove. Weather reports suggest more cold and possible snow this week. The Yeti boots will be out in full force, dare not get salt marks on the Belstaffs.

bloss - I love 25 Beautiful Homes magazine too. Although our house is finished I still buy it to nose at soft furnishings.

loubylu3 - I think the Ted Baker dress is ok. The Nina Campbell swallow print for Ted Baker was nice too but sold out now in most shops.

hells - you are so NOT fat. You are entitled to a bleurgh day for PMT but not a fat day. I have sat next to you remember so retract that comment now pretty please! I need a new exercise routine/regime. Gym - never have time to get there. DVD's at home - impossible. Yoga - new timetable does not match with my train times home. What next?

bonsoir - how is your DP's colleague's family?

vin - I have that LK skirt on "hold", well ot proper hold as it is in the Sale but I pleaded with the Assistant. I will be trying it on tomorrow. Red very daring for me in the office.

I keep reading the thread to catch up so sorry if I have missed anyone. Yes, I would definitely treat myself for the W&A birthday. I was there at the very start, albeit in lurking fashion. Can I buy the bag that I am dreaming of? DS1 now asleep!! I need to go to bed too as I am exhausted but I will merrily spend the evening on W&A now looking at links. Grin.

hellsbelles · 03/01/2011 21:15

are we all going to get the same thing in the A&W birthday spend? Something like the owl necklace! Then we can all wear them when we next meet like some sort of weird cult Grin

DT - good to have you back! It was really cold in East Sussex wasn't it! We were the other bit though - near Rye.

Funny old place St. Johns wood. It's changed a huge amount since I was there - you'd have to dress up to go and get a pint of milk now!

OllieWollieWoo · 03/01/2011 21:21

Notyummy - please take the ????? from my name as yes, W&A ladies, OWW is coming to London! Tiny bit annoyed as DH has a course in Paris until the Friday evening so won't be able to do my usual Thursday night crossing on the boat so may just fly into London on the Saturday - and fly back Sun or Mon.

Was it Esher or Choo who linked to the new shopping development opposite St Pauls? Nice range of shops I thought.

LTEC - I like the idea of a collective W&A b-day present. I'm in!
Pickled - yes to me living in The Netherlands! I live in The Hague, have done for 5 years (DH is Dutch). I love reading about Roman, Fritzi and Bonsoir's lives too - we are like little W&A's foreign correspondents!

LetThemEatCake · 03/01/2011 21:23

ooh yes went to that new shopping place for dinner a few weeks back - it's very nice - lovely setting. Nothing of a W&A nature open when I went so minimal damage done Wink

hells love the owl necklace idea!

DTI10 · 03/01/2011 21:25

hells - yes, Hove was very cold. Rye is a lovely place, picturesque and quaint tea houses. We ventured to the seafront on NY's day for a walk. DH has to do his NY walk. I had on my Belstaffs and the GD leopard print dress with thick opaques and thermals too.

So true about St. John's Wood.

I had better not purchase the bag for the W&A birthday spend then. I am hoping it will be reduced further but I doubt it.
