Bonsoir Shock and Sad what a terrible thing to happen.

Bonsoir · 30/12/2010 18:27

I know - so weird. But I am not going to speculate about what happened as I have no information at all, yet. He had a wife and two teenaged children - one son and one daughter.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. He really wasn't a friend of mine, just of my DP's (this man's wife is DP's exW's best girlfriend), but it is very odd.

Bonsoir · 30/12/2010 18:43

Please don't let this be a thread stopper! I just had to share the information with someone - please carry on W&A S&B-ing!

Bonsoir, that is so awful.

Vino, sounds like a great day!

Horrific news bonsoir.

My shoeboots are everything I ever dreamed of. Will post photo when new laptop is up and running tomorrow (then I'll shut up).
Wearing them with the Bec, 40 feels quite fabulous!

So sorry to hear your news Bonsoir. Absolutely shocking in every way.

Well done on the shoots Bloss - when you have waited for something for so long, it is even better when they live up to expectations! DH wore his skull and crossbones apron today whislt making the Yule Log....which is looking rather fabulous, and is currently residing in the garage as we do not have enough room in the fridge!

carciofi · 30/12/2010 20:13

Glad you got the boots, Bloss.

Enjoy the party, NY. The Yule log sounds delicious. We are being boring and staying in tomorrow night (our old babysitter doesn't want to come to our new area).

That's a shame about your old babysitter carciofi. Like your resolutions!
Thanks for comments re apron notyummy. My friends came over from Cardiff yesterday and I'm more or less sold out. I told dh that it was my sales that paid for the boots! (Watch out London March 19th, there'll be a tottering North Walian on the loose!)
We had a similar situation with our turkey ie no room in fridge. So we put it in the boot of the car - till we realised it was minus 10 that day, and quickly put it in the garage. I was very worried it would be frozen!
vino, I'm really glad you had a nice day and that you met your friend.
ltec, thanks again for your comments. I'm really sorry you feel the way you do. I wish we could help.
We're not going out tomorrow. I hate NYE. The worst was millennium eve when we were running round millennium stadium in Cardiff trying to get a drink, and could only get served at the Guinness bar. Yeuch! Manics were playing and dh was out with us with his then fiancée!!

traceybath · 30/12/2010 20:45

Bloss - yeay for the shoeboots. You are so good at waiting for the right thing.

I too hate NYE and much prefer being at home with nice food and wine.

Carciofi - pain about babysitter though! When does DD start at pre-school?

Arthur starts next friday and I've been washing and ironing all his uniform - gulp! He still seems so little to wear a uniform.

traceybath · 30/12/2010 20:47

Oh and VB I too adored the clothes in upstairs downstairs. Have decided DD looks like the perfect Edwardian child with her blonde curls Smile

Actually do you remember how I started on this thread way back when with my 'The screw that turned' obsession. And I still love a bit of gothic governess.

blossoming · 30/12/2010 20:51

Hideous dress vino.

traceybath · 30/12/2010 20:53

What bloss said vin Wink

Bonsoir · 30/12/2010 20:54

I'm going to go against the grain and tell you to buy that dress ASAP vin - your P will run off in fright immediately Wink

traceybath · 30/12/2010 20:55

Lol Bonsoir!

traceybath · 30/12/2010 20:56

Although I'm not a fan of Erdem. In vogue in the summer there was a feature about 2 voguettes getting married and one chose an erdem lace dress and it was horrid. Has therefore put me off the whole label a bit.

OllieWollieWoo · 30/12/2010 20:57

Bonsoir - how awful - for everyone involved.

Bunny bless you for looking in Warehouse - I'm touched but alas (ooooh, can you tell we are watching the Pride & Prejudice film on tv!) I fear its never to be mine - my extensive trawl online has thrown up that it was selling out as early as November (and that Claudia W and Holly W both wore it on TV which helped fuel demand- damm them!)
Vin - sounds like you had a lovely day with your friend. Love the comparison of us to SITC gals - I'm a Miranda with a little bit of Charlotte thrown in!
Bloss pleased you picked up your boots and they were worth the wait.
LTEC - dress looked amazing on you - love the detailing and style (and also like the image of you having to check for potential 'tassle in tights trauma' on loo trips!

Back to P&P (not the same as watching Colin Firth in a wet shirt tho!)

Saw a nice dress in the IO Spring collection which would suit you Winters? this in blue
They also have a good tank t in a range of colours.

notyummy · 30/12/2010 20:59

Oh, meant to say LTEC - have you tried Manuka Honey? I don't actually like honey, but it has rave reviews and could help you fight off the nasties.

Vin- the dress is pretty..... but is it George- worthy?

traceybath · 30/12/2010 21:01

Oh talking of Colin Firth - saw trailer today for his new film - The King's Speech which looked fabulous.

Oh and Roma - I have so enjoyed your book recommendations, Daughters of Brittania finished and Jane Digby half way through.
