What's the "cool mum style" where you live?

I have a friend who lives in a larger city and it's all about the yummy mummy/WAG (everyone's got a fake tan and an uber expensive handbag) thing and another friend who swears everyone she knows is decked out in the boho look (long dresses, funky jewelry, etc.). Here everyone's wearing NF jackets and expensive jeans and Keens. It's "the thing" to look as if you just got back from a brisk hike (or possibly are on your way to one. :)) Everything must be understated (highlights, jewelry, makeup.)

So, what's it like where you are? Just idle curiousity. :)

classy thats not a look you see on the streets of London, very often.

Do people really go out and about in PJ's and slippers? Shock

Cousins live in Duluth & Wyoming, so well used to snow I expect.

Same as Meggles, either skinnies/uggs/straightened hair or boden/joules/hunters

I don't think we have any cool mums in our neck of the woods - strictly functional attire. But then again I am a newbie at the gates.

furry boots Yes, I can completely see how PJs would not cause a stir in HamiltonWink, but I have recently seen them in North London in broad daylightShock.

Oh, Duluth's lovely! It's a 3 hour drive away from us, but we go fairly often-my best friend lives there now and it's a good halfway meeting point between my parents' house and ours.

:o at everyone who's mentioned pajamas. That was the cool thing to do when I was a senior in high school (ten years ago now Shock ). We all wore flannel plaid pajama pants with coordinating long sleeved tshirts and "messy" hair that actually took far longer to achieve than it would to actually do something decent to it. Oh we were a posh bunch! :) It's just funny to think the lengths teenage girls will go to to appear that they don't care at all.

Umm i'd say a wide mix here too.
leggings/jeggings huge jumpers and ugg type boots or knee high boots

older mums who wear straight jeans, walking type boots or boots with small heel and fur trimmed parkas (faux fur)

north face brigade in their hunters, north face, expensive jeans and stripey top (have total brain freeze and can;t remember the name for them. the french style ones)

then the working mums, so uniforms for banks, supermarkets and shops or like me, dresses, tights and heels or suit skirt, blouse and heels tights.
