Would this be too casual for a champagne reception following a small wedding?

Will mostly be family there (some trendy, some not!), and I want to buy something that will be BF-friendly, but that I can also wear again over the winter.

What do you think? Too casual?? If so, any way that I can dress it up?

This Warehouse Swallow Print Blouse with this Reiss Skirt.

Am getting error messages every time I try to post any links - seems the laptop had made its own judgement on my sartorial choices.

Just wanted to say that:
Blouses with pencil skirts can look very cute! <a class="break-all" href="http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:EnSq1zDrJAGtSM:endlessprincess.com/wp-content/uploads/styleaz-neck-tie-blouse.jpg&t=1" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Example 1, example 2, example 3.

And the first blouse would be gorgeous with skinnies - especially dark jeans and boots - very laid back cool - but still not wedding-y enough IMO.

dairymoo · 04/12/2010 17:19

Not sure about Coast stuff - have irrational dislike of the shop, sorry, but thanks for suggestion.

Didn't think about boobs and pussy bow Hmm - have cleavage for once in my life - perhaps I should be showing it off?

Can't link to any skirts I found on-line you can actually buy, but love the idea of teaming the blouse up with peg trousers!

SuperTheoryofSuperEverything · 04/12/2010 17:24

I love that blouse (have one myself)

But it's not really suitable for a wedding.

Muumimama · 04/12/2010 17:24

No need to apologize, dairy! I feel like that about some shops too! I second the idea of original top with skinny trousers.

notyummy · 04/12/2010 17:24

I love the blouse and have toyed with the idea of buying it. Not so keen on the skirt, and agree they could look a leetle frumpy together.

SuperTheoryofSuperEverything · 04/12/2010 17:26

Although, the blouse with cream peg leg trousers and Navy mary janes with a decent heel might work?

dairymoo · 04/12/2010 17:28

Thanks all - off to cook DCs supper - and will check back in again later and see if I can find some trews as described.

youngblowfish - just seen your links, example 2 is totally what I had in mind, seems we are in the minority though...

What about this top? And if so, what to wear it with? I figure it could be hoiked up for BF.

Isn't it gorgeous? My favourite of the three as well :).

You'd have to go down the trouser route with the ruffle top and I don't think it would be smart enough.

Still obsessed with skirts:
Fendi

Alberta Ferretti

But feel free to ignore :).

WhatsWrongWithYou · 04/12/2010 20:33

What about something like this - maybe with a pencil skirt?

WhatsWrongWithYou · 04/12/2010 20:34

And I quite like this skirt, although not with that top.

tethersjinglebellend · 04/12/2010 20:51

Meant to come back on the other thread and say- love the pencil skirt and blouse look; for a wedding, the devil's in the detail. The fabrics should be more luxurious than you would wear to the office.

Be confident with colour to lift the look out of the office.

youngblowfish · 04/12/2010 21:05

Tethers, yes! Couldn't agree more.

tethersjinglebellend · 04/12/2010 21:10

See? Two voices now Grin

dairymoo · 04/12/2010 21:21

I really like the Miss Selfridge and FC blouses. See, I knew I wasn't going mad. Pencil skirts and blouses can look good, I'm sure of it.

Now I just need to get to the shops to try some on.

Still considering peg legs though as might be more comfy than tight skirt for inevitable bending down to pick up dropped muslin / change nappy, etc.

Love those think they would look great with v high heeled brogues and really fine denier tights and a navy/tan clutch.Gorgeous.
