You know how Nigella buys the same dress in different colours?

Well, would you do the same?

I've got a xmas party to go to on the 18th but have turned out the same Coast dress that I bought last year several times.

But the shape really suits me and holds in my tummy

So would you buy this if you had one similar already in a fuschia colour?

DH said go for it but what does he know

Ruby IIWY I would order everything you like and send back what you don't! And if its you that is getting married then you can choose the colour scheme - I do like the cream jocasta though, but you could wear the blue and do what Aitch said about accessories

Love this thread as this is something I too have often regretted, ie in not buying 2/3 of the same dress/top etc. Did it this year, bought a lovely shift dress in purple and also in black, very interchangeable re the accessories but 2 completely separate outfits!!

Can't wait to get home (from work) to look at the Coast dresses online as cant access it at work!!!

AitchTwoOh · 26/11/2010 12:15

the thing about the cream dress, imo, is that it's not as nice as the blue one, and unless you dye it, you'll never wear it again.

i mean it depends on your look, and personality, but in winter or early spring i could totally see that blue dress at a wedding, with an up-do and a ginormous cream poppy or somesuch, tucked behind the ear, cream fur shrug etc for moving around, and big pearls a gogo elsewhere.

oooh, lovely. i really think you should go with the blue over the cream, if they are your only two choices. blue will be nice and strong in april, i just wouldn't have worn it in summer iykwim?

I do it often; if I find the perfect white shirt or t-shirt, always buy a few.
Have one of Diane von Frustenberg wrap dress in navy and burgundy, couple of pairs of Cavalli trousers, one in black and the other pale gold/beige, that I live in, etc.
Makes sense, if you find something that fits perfectly, get it in every colour you like.
Well, unless it's some latest trend[boak] and of dubious quality, i.e lasts 3 minutes, of course.

SantasMooningArse · 26/11/2010 14:13

Absolutely.

I ahve a very similar Next dress I bought in a sale two eyars ago and have almost worn it out; had I relaised how treasured it would be I would have bought as many varinats as they had.

Ormirian · 26/11/2010 14:19

Yes I would. I am a weird shape and if I find a dress that suits me I like to wear it again and again. So much stuff that I like seems to come in black which is dull.
