Am about to order a fitted dress online and would like to only order one size - does anyone have any experience of their dress sizes?

I would say that the fit is inconsisitent as between the items that they sell. I am the smallest size in their skirts and tops but find the smallest size in the fitted dresses squashes my boobs flat even though they fit fine everywhere else. The next size up fits my chest but looks too baggy everywhere else. Sorry not much help!

halftermhero do you have a fabulous bust maybe that's the issue!! Grin

mrsjuan · 10/11/2010 22:16

I would say it is slightly on the large size.
But then I do not have a fabulous bust!

coffeenut · 10/11/2010 22:18

I do have an erm ... "fabulous" bust and find the sizing is slightly large but fits said bust perfectly.

NotanOtter · 10/11/2010 22:20

ok that's really helpful actually - you both seem to be saying the same thing!

and Envy the busts!

I would say it is slightly on the large size but not particularly generous on the bust although mine is rather fabulous Grin

NotanOtter · 10/11/2010 22:22

gawd look at you lot - i am currently in a 30dd bra which sounds big but is tiny!

OP posts:
mrsjuan · 10/11/2010 22:24

Just had a panic that you'd somehow seen a picture of my bust Shock

NotanOtter · 10/11/2010 22:45

I have lots of experience with Ted Baker.

If you have a more than modest bust size then please dont touch their dresses. Their fits are bloody awful. Or, at least size up.

Their, tops however are, massive!!

Ive never worked it out.

If the dresses are unfitted then they fit better than the fitted.

Hope this helps.

HalfTermHero · 11/11/2010 14:04

Thank God, for you, Kitta. That backs up my experience!

chanie44 · 11/11/2010 14:05

Yep, I find that their clothes are rather miserly if you have a chest. There have been quite a few times when I've seen something lovely, but one size is too small on the bust and the next size up is too big everywhere else.

HalfTermHero · 11/11/2010 14:14

Hmmm. I wear a 'b' cup. I am starting to wonder if I am in the wrong size bra as not been measured for about 7 years and have had children in that time.......

kittya · 11/11/2010 16:37

gosh, shame on you woman!! you should get measured yearly.

I dont know who designs for Ted Baker but, I would like to have a word with him.

HalfTermHero · 11/11/2010 16:54

I am told! Will get measured shortly, lol.

NotanOtter · 11/11/2010 20:23

Oh no am worried now
The dress is on ASOS ( too embarrassed to link to it) but on the little catwalk 'clip' they do ( very helpful btw) it was HANGING off the model on the hips although she was a RAKE.

have ordered 8 1nd 10 and already wishing i had ordered 10 and 12 eeeek

OP posts:
kittya · 13/11/2010 13:18

has it arrived yet?

NotanOtter · 13/11/2010 21:08

Thanks kittya and hmmmm

it is very fitted - I am 9 stone 5 and 5 foot 7.5 ( to e precise) the 8 was tight but moreover short and looked awful - 10 much better fir but a it loose on the hips making me look more ample of the hip than i am ( NOT a good look) dd assures me you can tell it is fabric not hip so i am sticking with the ten

In answer to my own question I would say about right!
